Hi

Anybody still having problems with brake squeal, I have had squeal since day 1,

pads have been replaced but still squeals under low pressure braking.

I took the ford service forman for a drive and he said "sh*t that's loud", but they do

sod all about it.

I have even complained to Ford customer care but that seems to go no where.

All they tell me there is a problem raised with ford and we are working on it, but nothing happens.

There is a TSB out on this issue. You are given new pads which actually are the old pads with chamferred edges, therefore decreasing your "bite" area.

In any case these are meant to be non-squealers, and ever car built after August fitted with Premium Brakes have these new pads.

Some have reported squealing though.

Just pretend you have a V8 Supercar that squeals its tits off :spoton:

It's a Ford Classified thing, not open to general public.

I just know about it because I was after information about the different between the two pads.

In any case I have bought a set of the original squealing pads because of their better stopping power.

Hi Guys,

My T is a July 2004 model and it has had 2 sets of the replacement pads.

It stops the sqealing for about 5000k's and then it returns.

Still squeals, but to be honest, I don't care anymore. I am just going to put up with the noise.

Damn good brakes though!

Pull each pad out one at a time (so you make sure they go back in the same spot)- and file the edges with a rough file. You dont need to take much off to fix that kind of squeel.

Wear a dust mask.

The original squealing pads are even better :)

I got the non-squealers after my pads were due for replacment, I managed to fade them. Got hold of the older squealers from a dealer that still had some in stock. Heaps better because of the larger surface area :)
