I bought my xrt through a reletive who works for ford. I know after 6 months registered under their name I can transfer it to mine.

now the questions is, can I also trade the car in for a new one after 6 months or do I have to wait for 1 year to pass?

As an employee purchase the vehicle must be kept for at least 6 months before selling it.If they are transfering it to your name that would be classed as being sold. What you do with the car now is your business.

if you're an employee of Ford, you have to have the car in your name for 6 months. If you are a relative of a Ford employee (like me), you have to have the car in your name for 11 months. NOW if you sell the car before your time is up and you sell it for more then you paid for it, you MUST pay Ford any profit you have gained from the sale.

because you have transfered the car into your name now you can sell it or trade it or do what you want with it.

but either way do not tell them, as with the checks they do with the car they will not know it was ever owned by an employee.

as in they will put a price on it and then if you trade it in they will do a revs check and that is it.

so unless you tell them it was owned by an emplyee they will never know!!

unless someone knows the car

I havnt had the car for 6 months yet so its still under their name. im not a direct relative so that's y it couldnt be registered under my name. im planing to trade it in at the end of the year to get a 2006 xrt, maybe with the 6sp auto. so im thinking of not transfer the reg so I dont lose money on it. and I doubt it will b traded in for more than what I paid for it also.

Probably, but it's relatively hassle free trading the old car rather than putting an ad in local newspaper, stay at home all weekend waiting for the phone to ring and then telling the tyre kickers and test pilots to *beep* off. And then you finally get a genuine buyer and they only want to offer trade-in money anyway.

A lot of people who are paying around $30K for a car prefer to buy from a dealer where they get warranty and guaranteed title.

So dos anyone know how it is what they determine as 'RELATIVE'. As I looked at this a few years back and the dealer said he could not do it. My uncle works for Ford and I am direct relative not married into, as he is Fathers Brother.
