Nokia 6310i car kit installed ... routed through premium sound. Done by service department (free) prior to pick up.

Works like a dream. :censored:

I thought about Bluetooth hands free until I realised that

a It was more expensive

b I didnt power the signal

c It didnt charge the phone.

Nice gadget and very neat - but why?

Yes, its more expensive.

No it doesnt provide an antenna signal, but if it did it would no longer be "wire free'. This can be done, but why get a bluetooth kit? Doesnt charge the phone - correct. But most phones last for days between charges now so this doesnt matter to me, just have a car charger handy for if/when you do get caught out.

The major benefits l see for getting Bluetooth;

- the phone can be anywhere in the car to work (in your pocket, in the boot or whatever). Dont have to access the phone to answer calls, and can even make voice activated calls without having the phone in your hand, so safer.

- any phone with Bluetooth SHOULD work meaning no new kit everytime you change phones

- More than one phone can use the kit regardless of brand

- no need for a crade and cutting into the dash/console. Easily removed and installed in your next car.

l have an Ericsson kit in my BA and it works flawlessly with Prem sound :censored:

I have Premium Sound in my XR6T and also have had fitted a genuine Nokia kit for my 8310 Nokia phone. This fitting was done as part of my purchase.

Works well, mutes the radio/CD with call coming through the car speakers and has "Media" displayed on the console.

Apparently the kit just clips straight in.
