Well cheapest option is pay the $650 excess. At least I get a courtesy car for the duration. It's only the bumper, should be easy an quick enough.

GT Front Bar $900 painted and installed, at least mine (the silver one pictured under the Typhoon Kit on AWC) and a friends Phantom one was... Good looking kit that, might have to thank the dog.. ;)

With my luck, better to bite the bullet, get the stocko one, pay the $650 excess. Knowing my luck, it would happen again and a fibreglass one would shatter into a million pieces.

That's 2 now, unbelievable. 1st was in a courtesy AU but no where near as bad, mild impact. Once again, no time to react, second later and it would have become a permanant fixture to a truck. I was in an outside lane, just as the truck was 2 to 3 metres in front of me, a dog, yep you guessed it, same thing, left hand side copped it, dog crosed over the road, just missing the truck but straight into me. Lucky that was only at 50k, the dog was ok.

This one, no sign of it, poor thing.

Call myself Cro MK II...lol.

Hell no.

Replace that smashed foglight with a driving light and upgraded globes though....

Do the other side too for good measure and wire up fog lights to high beams. Good enough for a majority city driver.

that's bloody crook Wayne, sorry to hear.

When ya sitting on 100 and something jumps out there aint nothing you can do. Guess you can only look to the positive and imagine that it coulda been worse.

Cant wait to get a view of your new drive in the metal, so to speak.

Tell it.."Hope you get better soon"....

Haha, that was my next stop George....lol.  AWC

hmm, $528 plus a couple of hundred to paint it Mandarin against what?  Umm.  $1500?  Hard choice.  Maybe I'll spend extra $$ for a carbon fibre GT bonnet as well hey?  lol.

Ricemobile, here I come.

Wayne, sorry to hear. Lucky it is only the bumper. As per the hood, CF and leaving it black would be ricey yes. However, buy it, sand it smooth and paint it. Looks right then and being CF it is light and take alot of weight off the front nose.

That bumper can be plastic welded - repainted and you will never know it was damaged. You should look into it - would be cheaper than the excess possibly.

If you go the insurance path - you could get the panel shop to supply the fibreglass GT part - as long as it costs less than the genuine one. If it shatters again - get another one!

Does anyone supply kevlar bumpers? I have a Kevlar body on my Cobra - went off the end of the back straight at the race track and ended up against the tyre wall - and the body just popped back into place once it was extracted from the tyres - great stuff!
