Alpine have something special coming out in a few weeks specifically for the BA Falcon, so stay tuned. Those without colour ICC need not apply.

Rumours of this were circulating about 12 months ago, some may recall.

Go to alpine.com.au and download the brochure. You're looking for item VPA-B211E.

This is what I posted on fordforums.com.au in ther interior/audio tech section:

"Markings on unit, top to bottom.

Left Side:

* Camera In

* Aux In 1/2 (Video; Audio L/R)

* AV Selector

* Navigation In

* Navigation Out

* Ai-NET

Right Side:

* Aux Out (Video; Audio L/R)

* Navigation Guide Out

* Remote In

* Power Supply

* Reset

Small print on the brochure - "Requires an optional vehicle specific adapter cable or box for connection to the factory system - sold separately."

Sounds like the Blaupunkt system (not that I know about them anyway) except it allows you to use Alpine Ai-NET gear (?works like a pseudo Alpine head unit) such as the iPod controller (KCA-420i) or an Ai-NET CD/MP3 changer (CHA-S634)???

Pure speculation on my behalf, but it gives me something to do."

Anyone with the blau system, does this sound similar? If so, the advantage of the Alpine seems to be the Ai-NET interface to control iPod through the ICC (maybe). Don't know price ywt though, not looking forward to finding that out.

Chatting to local Alpine bloke couple weeks ago, think he said around $799 for that unit then you need the vehicle specific adapter for maybe $250 for BA still some weeks away maybe month or 2. Said he's seen prototype on BA screen looks sensational just pug your crap in and away you go, dvd player, game consoles other crap on your front screen. The vehicles information gets somehow superimposed over what you're watching when you change a setting. You/they need to connect the handbrake wire for motion disabling of the unit (law). Initial price is stiff considering you still need to buy dvd players and other source devices/voltage inverters and theres still no screen for back seat passengers, they will most likely do deals if you package a bunch of gear, but the good thing is knowing Alpine it should be good quality and thoroughly tested. that's what he told me anyway.
