We will be trialling a few of the recently drafted "Cruise Guidelines" to see how they go, and the cruise members reaction to them.

No rocket science stuff, just common sense.

For example, there will be a nominated "Leader", either the organiser of the cruise or someone nominated by the organiser, he will lead the way, he must not be overtaken, and he will set the pace, and therefore the behaviour of the following pack.

Bad behaviour will not be tolerated, and may conclude to those members never being invited on cruises or events again.

that's enough for tonight..... :pinch:

Well this will be my first cruise and my last by the sound of it.

I work for a German based company and I have enough of "Nazism" at work, I sure as hell don't want it in my social life as well.

We drive spirited cars, if we all want to drive around in a pack playing follow the leader, we might as well be driving N/A's or Volvo's and put our tweed hats on.

I thought this was a forum for people with similar interests in cars, I must have missed the part where it became a full on society with by-laws and regulations?

Please correct me Cro if I am out of order....

I think you are 100% spot on.

The problem is not every body feels the same way, and we have to respect that.

I know I am the cause of most of the grevences on our cruises, and these new rules will help tone down the scary effect that some members and their families experience.

These rules will apply to site organised cruises, not cruises/track days that members organise (and there will be plenty of those in the near future).

LOL

I'll be happy to be up front if everyone agree's, as long as someone can give me directions over the radio. Directions is the main reason I picked Ken.

.Cheers,

But I thought this was a member organised trip (I.e. Ken...)

I think it would be fantastic seeing 30 or 40 T's all playing follow the leader down the Hume, but when we get into the "challenging" stuff, fine I understand not everyone wants to check the limits of tyre traction. So nominate a "meeting point" a half hour or hour up the track where everyone can met up again and the boy wonders can then get a move on and play (at their own peril) while the rest do it how ever they like. We all met up at Point Zulu.. and continue our run.

Sucked in guys, looks like I will be going afterall.

As for the driving behavioural rules. If you get home safely at the end of the day, reconsider their value. They may have saved your life without you even realising it. Croatia, if I'm happy with your driving habits tomorrow, I'll buy you a beer. I'll also buy you a beer if you shut the f%$k up on the cb.

Rob

BTW - I don't know if it will effect anyone here(except ms700) but the Clyde Mountain has been closed for urgent repairs due to land/rock slide at Government Bend. Might be out of action for a couple of days.

Who's up for a cruise on Sunday, July 3rd, 2005? :msm:

This one is in 6 stages and each has it's own charms.

Stages 2-5 cover some very narrow, windy roads, so be warned ... you may regret your decision to bring the ankle-biters along on this one.  :msm:

For those who want to leave from Mt Annan, I plan to be away from Woolies car park at 10.30 sharp. :spoton:

Stage 1 is pretty boring, down the Humourless to the Mittagong/Bowral turnoff. Maybe we could use this time to converse on the CB's about politics, humanity, religion, current affairs, etc., or maybe we could do the usual and you guys could just shovel heaps of sh*t on me for about an hour?

Stage 2 takes us toward the Cambewarra Mountain Lookout over some interesting back roads. Narrow roads means care is advised. Have your cameras ready for this one, as the views are spectactular. 30 mins (or so) and we'll hit the road again. :crybaby:

Stage 3 takes us to Berry for lunch. Again, some good, windy roads and just a few obstacles, e.g., over-hanging branches and vines. Berry has many places to eat, but we checked out B bop's of Berry and were happy with the prices and quality. An hour should be enough to eat and relax, then back to it!

Stage 4 and we're heading back to Robinson for afternoon tea at the best Pie Shop on the planet. Good chance to fill the kiddies tummies once more for the up-coming windy stage 5.

Stage 5 takes us back to Bowral on an interesting Tourist Drive.

Stage 6 sees us back on the Humourless and no doubt, more intellectual conversation on various current topics.

Although I can't tell you exactly how far, I can warn you that it will be a long drive we will cover quite a few k's. Full tanks at the start is a good plan. We should use the "usual" CB chanel, if you don't know what that is we'll let you know on the day.

... so, who's in? :msm:

Top cruise that! :tease:

Big ups to Kenneth for organising the run. Great set of tourist roads you found there. The "rollercoaster" nearly made some of us lose our lunch! Excellent work! :tease:

Well, I've got five more sleeps to go before I'm off "Pommie Bashing"... :glad:

Well done Ken and helpers :tease: Top day out.

Really enjoyed taking the Phoon for a proper drive, rather than the daily :glad: Sydney traffic. Good as always to meet a few new faces and catch up with the usual suspects :tease:
