Mate, that's a tough luck story, and I sympathize with you, but why didn't you title the thread "Had enough of CHALLENGER FORD'S bullsh!t" ....after all your gripes aren't with the factory.

Sorry Chips have to disagree with ya on this one, as I believe any Franchise Dealer carrying a FORD badge represent FORD full stop. Therefore in the eyes of the consumer they would be ultimately responsible for their dealerships dealings. Remember FORD Geelong asks dealerships too pay them millions of dollars in franchising fees so they can display and sell their product, and therefore its imperative that they (Headquarters) ensure their dealerships are doing the right thing by their consumers.

SO TO ALL FORD representatives carrying the badge lift your game and try to do the right thing by your loyal (and in a growing number of cases) not so loyal FORD fans.

This is all very interesting - I live in Rockingham too and have been contemplating an upgrade through Challenger. Time heals old wounds they say..........

I've only got an '95 EF - bought from Centre Ford in '97 - and I let Challenger Ford do some of the warranty services going back a few years now (probably '98/'99). I've got polished EF XR8 mags and the last time they serviced my car they didn't do the wheel nuts up properly. I lost a wheelnut going at 110 Kph at some point on the Kwinana Freeway - damn lucky it didn't kill somebody.

The strange grinding sound my car made when turning made me take a look to find most of the nuts only hanging on by a turn or two.

I don't remember getting any sort of apology, just a replacement wheelnut in my letterbox.

I've done all my own services since. Challenger Ford will never touch one of my cars again.

How are Centre Ford nowadays for service and "care" for want of a better word?

I know they are all part of the "Perth Auto Alliance" ie about 6 of the main Ford dealerships, but Challenger Ford sounds like it has always sucked.

I'm thinking about doing a double upgrade and getting an XR6 (if I can LPG convert it) and a Territory TX to accommodate my growing family (3rd child due late September)

Rik,

I have only ever taken my cars to Titan Ford and Challenger Ford and I am not happy with either of the two, thus I can not comment on the others.

Good luck!

It's not just FoMoCo they are all the same - the experience is shared across the board. Whenever my car goes in for a service or repair I always insist on going with the mechanic when they test drive the vehicle (never give your $50000 keys to a monkey that arrives to work in his $500 gemini :fool: ). Tell everyone, and never go back - poor customer service should never be rewarded! Word of mouth is a very powerful tool.

I empathise with your predicament.

Ive been dealing with Centre Ford quite alot with my 95 EF XR8 and had mixed results. I think the negativity comes from just believing they charge way too much, but having said that they fixed most of problems with not too much trouble.

A few months ago however I had to return it twice after a standard service because they failed to see a wire not connected to the MAF. But they recently pulled one of the the heads off (XR8) and machined it along with the 8 valves after a horror run with Ultra Tune and its now running great.

No real complaints, but not totally convinced to want to recommend them to someone.

Swanga, any luck with your beast yet?? Or are you still waiting?

:spoton:

PS. I love my BA but I am very unhappy with the service that is dished out by some dealers. Very second class IMO. One positive is that it can only get better.......I hope!!?

If Ford are happy to let them put their sign out the front of the business, then it is very much their problem. The dealer network is Fords number one problem. I have had a bad experience with a local Ford dealer (Grant McCarroll Armidale) and their response to it was pathetic and has taken the shine off my two Fords.

No matter how good the cars are, if Ford dont fix the network and accept responsibility for how it is at the moment, then they are going to loose sales, as they should. They are doing the oppositions marketing for them at present.
