Based on what I have learned here, the biggest restriction after the cat is the centre muffler. The rest of the system actually flows quite well.

So if you are going to outlay money on a new system, spend the extra money and include the cat.

Apart from the Xforce, there may be other systems out there which are a straight bolt-on. Exotic exhaust in Brisbane can fabricate a system for you, but I'd say they would need your car to do this.

Others will disagree, however, be careful with the gauge of the pipe if you decide to do a single system rather than a twin. You just need to do the math on the volume (or surface area of the opening(s)) to gauge which have the capacity to flow more.

You will also need to consider how far you are planning to modify your car. That way you can buy a system which will be able to handle the gas flow now and later.

Good luck

I can definitely notice the power loss.  Put it this way, I can't even here the turbo whistle at all, only when the vehicle is reving past 4,000rpm.

If I am coasting along at 60km-70km and I plant my foot, the car drops down a gear and goes like an Excel....  Where as before the thing would go like a cut snake and even loose traction.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

I'm not convinced yet ... what is making your turbo whistle? Is it load on the turbo making it whistle do you reckon? You say it now only whistles above 4000rpm so did it whistle below 4000rpm previously?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

It's like the turbo is not producing any kind of boost until around 4,000rpm. There is just nothing there and I mean nothing. If I could take you for a drive and show you I would.......

This is just a guess:

Have a look at all the turbo piping in the engine bay - and make sure you havnt lost any connections/clamps.

Maybe - buy removing the rear muffler - you allowed the turbo to boost extra - and pushed off a fitting?

Worth a look anyway.

Sounds plausible. I'll check that out. Thanks for your reply.

Happy to report that the car is now going better than ever since picking it up this afternoon. It's back to spinning the rears once again. Though it is a tad noisy.

Thanks everyone.

Agreed, the standard exhaust is actually quite good, you do not need to mod them like you would a Jap car. Remove the Cat which is your fist biggest restrcition, then by choice if you want to do the centre muffler then do so. This will easily then cope with 300rwkw.l

So what did you do to resolve the lost power issue?

JB,

When you say remove the cat do you mean leaving it out altogether or replacing it with a high flow?

What brand and size also?

Thanks, Brett.

Just a suggestion, if ever you need to go in for knee surgery or something like that, make sure you and the surgeon have a common understanding before he starts. Would be a little embarrasing to wake up and find he has removed your @rsehole.

Just a thought....

Nothing useful to add....
