It's still ugly though.<{POST_SNAPBACK}>Take from Spleens link... Quote This efficient design with a state-of-the-art engine management system incorporates only 10% carry-over parts from the former 3.5 litre engine, and eliminates complications, such as double overhead cams, variable valve timing, variable intake manifold, secondary air system and an EGR system. The result is an engineering achievement without frills, enabling MMAL to focus customer value onto other design areas, such as the advanced trims and finishes. So Bitsumissing are removing crap like DOHC VCT to use the money for nicer ..... door handles.... Sounds like they are onto a winner there. Sounds like they are onto a winner there. I know, how retarded...You can never get the efficiency of a properly setup duel overhead cam engine with fully independant VCT. If the overlap between the inlet and exhaust cams cannot be modified, increasing efficiency is never going to be optimum.. You can never get reburn (when not all the exhaust gases are expelled, some of them are reburned to increase efficiency). That is a major point for efficiency because it decreases emissions in a huge way... Someting like 15% in closed loop conditions (its useless in WOT).The fact they have done so well with SOHC is an acheivement, but it will ALWAYS fall behind in finding the uttermost pinicle of efficiency.... ALWAYs... Its impossible to have the best of all worlds without a compromise. If that's how the new Galant/Shagna is going to look then Mitsubishi Oz may as well pull down the shutters and hang up the liquidation shingle now to save some time! The Magna would want to look a lot better than that. Found this concept drawing of the PS41, which, if they can replicate (even a little) in real life, will look very nice. Pity they are front wheel drive!! I would expect the australian version to have a completely different nose and tail design, however you have to look at that 4X4 soft roader (overlander?) they are selling here and that has the ugly nose design.and what about the AWD system. they've spent millions on the system so... they dump it for the new magna(galant)? The Falcon is bad enough now (my head is in the roof when sitting in the back seat) and the roof doesn't drop away that much. It not all about legroom! HEY that's novel!! :laughing:Although I can remember being in the back seat on occasions, I'm sure I was not in a sitting position.
