Yeah, and the 5th one is no better than the 1st.Save yourself the trouble and just put up with it.A close friend of mine works for Spicers who make the diffs and he sais it ain't going to be fixed for some time.

My new F6 also has backlash....It sounds and feels crap but I expected it!

One thing to remember is that the manual also has backlash making the problem more noticeable.

One way to fix the problem is not to back off the accelerator :spoton:

Cheers

I got it, never complained about it because I expected it when I bought the car.

As above, don't back off the accelerator.

my t went in for its 45k service today with a shopping list , one of the list is the diff which I have been complaining about since new it also has all the clunks in the drive and the clutch is getting heaver by the day, when I rang back at 4 oclock the main thing that was mentioned was the fact they found my chip under the dash and now they have to talk to ford about my problems, but strange enough they are going to change my diff which they found it earler it may have had them talking to ford sooner

What chip are you talking about?

My Mk1 manual had little driveline lash. Even at 30k.

My Mk2 manual had it from the first km. Terrible. Pointed it out to them at the 3k service and they said its within allowances and to "monitor it". (They are trained to say that as it implies Ford are treating it seriously...yet allows them to do nothing at all!)

Interestingly, after my 1st service the diff clunked a little less. So I wonder if part of it was something they can tighten to reduce.

However the main part of the clunk is still present - but not as often as it was before my service
