Hi all,

I have posted this problem before but since everyones input have had it at jefferson ford in sth melb again for them to look at (and check everyones ideas...cheers !), they can't find any thing wrong with it...again.

So I asked to use another turbo with exact same k's on it (35k's). I took this car for a qood run it didn't have an over extreme protective traction control system. Plus the service guy agreed that my car had the traction control system coming on when it shouldn't have...but he and they all didn't now what the issue could be.

To me it sounds simple the traction control system is F#^ked...but not so..

Anyway problem is when traction control is on in my car it is over zealous in its application, meaning around slow corners and you accelerate the car simply farts and holds back....to the point it is annoying to not only me, but my wife notices it as well...and she only picks the kids up in it.

The car never did this originally, and infact I found this traction control really good, as earlier cars I have owned, had terrible traction control systems.

I have had all hosings checked, radiator etc, reflashed the chip etc etc.

The car goes in 2morrow to ford again for them to try and rectify and they guy was rambling about speed sensors in the wheels etc, but I have a funny feeling they will not find the issue as it has been in 5 times for them to fix this issue.....they think I am going nuts at the dealership.

Before I go nuts can anyone tell me whether the turbo's traction control system is not very good and cuts in even when there is no need for it, especially whilst slow cornering and when the car is cold ?

For the record I originally thought it was not the traction control system and just thought the car was misfiring, but the car only does this when traction control is on.

If any one is bored and can be bothered reading this long message I would appreciate any feedback......cause the car never was like this when I purchased it.

Cheers

RAY

PS...I have advised my wife that if I upgraded to a Typhoon then it will fix this problem ??

Definately sounds like a traction control problem.

I've been very impressed with the T's traction control, I find it's not intrusive at all. The only time I find it's a bit of a pain is when you are trying to accelerate over uneven sufaces (ie Sydney's bad roads).

Though certainly no expert, I think the sensors in the ABS might be your problem. The good thing for you is that your dealer does recognise there is a problem and are trying to fix it for you.

Good luck with it.

raymondo,

Have you had the car enhanced at all as my Turbo was excellent when stock as far as the traction control goes I could hardly feel it working its magic.

THEN I got the car enhanced only to 220rwks and the traction control is sh*t. Spluttering and farting like you say whenever the wheels loose traction even the slightest wheel spin and it dies. Now I drive it in the dry with the traction off and leave it on in the wet.

Brett.

just to rule these out, how are your tires/springs/shocks... it may be a case of a wheel picking up over a small bump it has happened to me once or twice since I have had the KingSprings installed at about 10-15% throttle and under 40kph

Although I have had my set of problems with my car such as oil leaks, driveline vibration, A/C goin on and off by it self which is weird. I havent personally had this problem or even heard ne one having this same problem. a lil while bac there was a topic about people havin problems with their T's and wat it was. I am certain no one mentioned ne problem with their traction.

I do think that u should keep reporting this problem to ford even though they dont seem to find ne thing wrong with it, juz for later because my ford dealer told me to do the same with my A/C prob.

ne ways good luck with it :spoton:

and keep us posted

Hi all,

Thanks for all the input.

Nope the car is not modified in anyway..so no issues there, and the tyres should be AOK.

The ford guys went over the car thoroughly yesterday and finally agreed with me that it was not running correctly and there is a problem but they do not know how to solve it...but they have agreed with me finally...excellent.

So they are now going to make contact with some Ford engineer (guru) and book a time for them to pull the thing to bits and solve it...cause so far they have checked everything from the radiator to the speed sensors on the wheels.

I will keep you posted.

Cheers

I thought there was a known problem with a sensor on the rear wheels malfunctioning. From memory the same sensor used for the ABS is used to detect spin from loss of traction. If it malfunctions, the car thinks the wheel is spinning often when it is not.

Id be telling them to check the sensors.

PS, if they say the sensors are fine, tell them "No problem, obviously the rest of the car is faulty so keep the sensors and replace the rest of the car under warrantee"....

I to have had this problem it happens every now and then, you start to feed the power on and it start to spluter and the power is retarded it has been happening coming out of corners and even on dead straight roads with no bumps. Ford said there is no problem as it is unable to do the same thing when it is back in for a service it is quiet frustrating. I first thought fuel as it only happens under eccelartion then fuel pump and so on but had all these looked at it is :tease: me off as I am still unable to track the problem down and get it fixed. But it has not done it for two weeks I hope you have luck in getting it fixed.
