Not really "great value" when you consider they estimate 3 seconds is attributed to the tyres they use. In other words a standard Clubbie with the Pirelli Tyres they use would lap 3 seconds quicker then 10k seems pretty high IMHO.

Got the latest Motor Mag today, it has an article comparing a stock Clubby to a Clubby with the track pack. Only skimmed through the article but l think they are very impressed, the track pack Clubby was over 4 sec quicker around the test track than the stockie (52 vs 48 sec) Its a $10k option, great value  Good stuff HSV, its an excellent idea.

Your move FPV  :spoton:

If its a harsh day to day driver, and loses creature comforts such as air cond, for an extra 10k I think the market will be small. Will the warranty cover "track work" or when they start turning up at the dealers for warranty with broken gearboxes will they yell"abuse" "you are not covered for that" my HSV friends have many horror stories with their cars never seeing a track, I can only imagine the issues if a 70k Aussie banger (HSV or FPV)is blasted around a track every weekend as the suggestion is that this is what it can do. I believe it will have the ugliest resale of any HSV yet. The idea is good, hopefully the cash will go into the drivetrain cause that's where I believe it will be needed.

I just dont understand the reason of losing creature comforts to gain such little. A BMW M3 has the go, comfort and ability to handle extremly well around a track. Yes there is a $$$ tag to it but HSV has the ability to create these type of cars at a much cheaper price. IMHO I would purchase the normal clubby and edit bye bye trak pack. Well come to think of it I wouldnt buy a clubby at all :hitit:

Just had a better read of the article in the latest Motor.

Not sure where everyone gets the idea that A/C is deleted, it isn't, the car doesnt loose any features when optioning the Track pack. Its not a stripper option. At $10k on a basic Clubbie it represents great value, just the brake upgrade alone is a significant step and betters the $6k Brembo option from Ford. Motor loved the car and the way it drove, would lke to drive one for myself at some point. Not sure about the black alloys, would have to see the car in person. Would look a lot better on some colours than others. Black would look pretty tough l reckon.

Be a nice option to have available on an FPV too :crybaby:

Well that's good then they should sell a few. I just hope the drive train/quality/warranty is up to the marketing suggestion that it can be blasted around a race track every second weekend somehow I think it won't, as is the case with most Aussie stuff.
