I convienently went to the tip today and when I drove onto the weigh bridge after dumping my rubbish my BA XL ute weighed 1.7 tonne. it had about 10L of petty, and I was still in the car. Im not sure what ford or the motor mag say it should weigh, but there u go.

its not the XT but its the base ute

Going from my XR6T ute to an XT was in my view going to be a BIG dissappointment, however I found it very hard to believthat once I had a custom dual outlet exhaust fitted, the XT was opened up so much and the throttle response was amazing... since having the "overboost protector" reprogrammed onto the ute, I was extremely dissappointed with its overall pull.. the XT and the ute are in similar leagues in my books now :spoton:

reading this topic is very helpful as I have always thought that an XT would be mildly quicker than an XR6... some very interestin points being made.. im tempted to try some induction mods to see how much more power I can sqeeze out of the base model... the weight of my XT would be alot heavier considering stereo, 20"s etc, but still, its comforting to know that im not that far behind just cos I opted for the POV PACK :k24t:

Note to FORD for the MkIII,

How about putting a air pod out of a XR8 into the XR6 N/A and maybe even a 2nd opening (fit the standard intake hose off the standard air box to the pod as well)

Im not talking a massive gain here only some thing to set the XR6 N/A apart from all other XRs and try lo lift the performance a touch. It still would finish behind the XT but that's not the point all XR need a little somthing to set them apart form the next one weather its a Turbo or a Boss the N/A XR6 should never be about looks just a small change like this would provide the N/A with a little cred.
