Unless you have moded the thing so much you can no longer fit everything under the existing bonnet. Why bother  :nugget: Had to edit myself after actually reading back a page or so. If you can't fit it all in get the bonnet, a very valid reason.

other defining features are

rear spoiler

engine sound

badges

but as I and other point out personal preferance

But I have to be right up close to the car to see/hear those features and none of them are visible from the front so I wouldn't consider them defining!!

From a distance (and a small one at that) the car would appear to be an XR8 ...... then when you were closer you would discover it is an XRT ... unless it has been de-badged in which case you would be left guessing!!!

Don't get me wrong - I love the bulge - however, I like to be able to see a car and say "Here comes an 8". Other people couldn't give a rats ar$e!!!! :D

PS ... I think you will find in this thread that I am one of those 'others' that say "at the end of the day - each to their own/personal preference"!!! What people want to do is up to them. My point is that your car will look like an XR8 - whether people personally think that is good or bad is up to them.

the red 8 and the silver trim around the car would be the most noticable features apart from the bonnet buldge, that's about it in the first couple of glances 'on the road'. Of course there are other features that you would not pick up on straight away.

I have never paid much attention to the rear spoiler from the front ...

is there a difference between XRT and XR8 spoilers ?

no one is going to argue about the "note" of the Boss ... are they ?

anyway ... let's keep an eye on the result of the poll at the start of this thread

The XR6T doesn't need a bump in the bonnet. What it could do with are some air bonnet vents similar in shape to the Forcus WRC but suitable proportioned, for a fire breathing monster producing 300+ kWs and a truckload of torque. You'd have to raise that whole bonnet mid-section by a few mm, but it would look awesome.

This is no different to people putting XR lights on a non XR car (especially the ED ones on EA - ED models). If you think it makes the car look tougher, then do it. the only negative I can see is that other people may see it as you aspiring to be an XR8. Given that the performance between the 2 is the same, take the badges off and let 'em guess.

BTW, I have an AU forte with enough gear on it for some people to confuse it for a T-series. Do I care? No. Was that my intention? No. I justed wanted something 'different'. If we didn't all want something different, we would all be driving model A Fords in any colour you like as long as it's black!

"We are all individuals"

...

"I'm not?"

Any of you guys (64%+) rung the Hilliers & Autotek to tell them they're idiots for putting the XR8 bonnet on the Raptor ute? Something along the lines of "I saw your ute but I'm annoyed with you for letting me believe it was an XR8, I couldn't tell it was an XR6T from a distance - how can you do that to me!!! Why would you want to make it look like an XR8, you guys are such wannabees!"

- OR "that car is so RICE!" and then hang up.

I didn't think so.

And don't bother posting to tell me it's OK 'cos it's a show car or that they need the bonnet for the mods they're going to do to the motor.

And what's the definition of rice anyway? I keep hearing things like anything non factory that isn't functional is rice.

So it's OK for the factory to produce non-functional items?

What happened to personalising your car? Isn't that what being an individual is about?

If XR8 bonnets should be exclusive to XR8's then why is it OK to add exclusive Fairmont items to your interior - shouldn't this be only for Fairmont owners?

Understand that just because people like the look of the bulge doesn't mean they want the public to think their car is an XR8 - I'm sure they're happy they've got an XR6T- they just prefer a more aggresively styled bonnet. It's got nothing to do with pretending to be something else as is the case with alot of the Jap cars such as the Mitsi's

If you want one go and get one. I would but they're just to damn expensive.

Rant, rant, rant.....(See what you guys made me do!)
