XR-8 Bonnet On An XR-6 Turbo

THEY ARE BOTH GREAT CARS BUT:

How could you tell if its a xr8 or xr6.

Some small bage? The diffrence in engine noise?

In the history of XR'S you always could tell the diffrence of a XR8 or 6.

I think that an XR-6 Turbo with an XR-8 bonnet is a bit of a toss! :tosser:

You will know , because if you are in the Turbo you will be looking at the ass of an XR8 upto 60kph, and hearing it .....

Forget the lump! Why not bring back the bonnet vents ala EF falcon XR. Then some of that heat could dissapate and it might even look good to. And for my two cents worth. I think I have already said this but, we as Ford lovers have finally recieved from old Henry a great car to work with. Whether It be Blue lights in your window switches, or a Gt wing on an XT, Do what you want when you want and for what ever reason you want. Enjoy the car. I hate every car on the road looking like mine. Remember they are goning to sell alot of these cars.

As to the bulged bonnet on a Turbo.......big toss.

The price was the same in December, I know cause I asked for that option. Ford Factory would not fit it, it would have been a dealer fit add on paint cost.....say no more. Anyhow am so glad I didn't go that way, going to spend the money on an upgraded exhaust system and K&L air filter, slowly getting the Minister of Finance around .

As for an air ram......toooo WRXish (just another orifice you have to clean bugs (and the odd bird) out of.

But that all said.....its your 'babe' do what you want with her, just treat her right

I will be ordering my 6T with a xr8 bonnet,

but I might also get air outlets stamped in it first.

I agree with Stephen. When I see a BA XR coming towards me, I like the idea of being able to tell if it's an XR6 or XR8 from the front. And I think there are many other mods that would be much more worthy of somebody spending their money on.

I guess there are two ways of looking at it.

You can have the same bonnet as an XR-8 which has a look of power and some exclusivity to it, or you can have the same bonnet as every BA taxi driving around :D

By the way, I didn't start this to cause any arguments, I was simply curious to see how people in here thought.

Interestingly, there is the same poll over at performanceforums.com ( http://board.performanceforums.com/forums/...readid=67149060 ), but the results are almost totally the opposite of what we have here. Very interesting.

As for someone being confused between an XR6 Turbo bonnet and a taxi bonnet ...... I am glad you are laughing because that is a big joke :lol:

If you don't like the look of the bonnet, that is cool - modify it with some scoops or something - give YOUR car some 'exclusivity' to it - don't try and make it into something it is not. People will see the bulge and assume it is a V8 - why would you want that?? That is the 'wank' aspect of it - not the fact that you are modifying it.

As to the exclusivity, the bonnet is on the XR-8, GT, GT-P and Pursuit Ute, to be precise. :D
