Guest IMTRBO Guests Posted 29/04/03 09:15 AM Share Posted 29/04/03 09:15 AM The thing is though if you plan to do major performance upgrades you will need to change the bonnet. I know of a few companies planning to use the XR8 bonnet with the upgradesSorry not to sound bias but what type of upgrades to a turbo motor would require you to have a raised bonnet (confused) Air Vents maybee but apart from that I can not see and engineering reasons why you would need to change it If I were in the market for a new bonnet go a alaminum one try get the car under 1700kg rather than make it heaver with a bigger bonnet

Guest JESMAL Guests Posted 29/04/03 12:55 PM Share Posted 29/04/03 12:55 PM Agreed, it's your car, go for it if you like it Don't gives a sh*t what others think. People say..."Oh...putting a XR8 bonnet on a T is RICEY...blah blah blah"...these are the same people who later say "FARKING AWESOME!!!!" when they see a picture of a HOT FORD in the mags. I may be wrong but still I don't understand whats the problem with putting the bonnet on, or even have the GT front or rear spoiler. It's all about personalizing the car. Sure, over 20 people on this forum may say it looks like sh*te but then there'll be more out there who'll be drooling when they see your beast on the road. So the final verdict is, if you like it, go for it, you don't need the "approval" of board members to justify if you should spend $$ on your baby. Look at it this way, even if you dump all your cash on so-called "more worthy" upgrades such as the APS kits which boost your T to approx 400kw, there'll still be some people that'll give you the sh*tes
Guest FlashingRED Guests Posted 29/04/03 01:54 PM Share Posted 29/04/03 01:54 PM Quite simple really, if it's your thing to mod this car in such fashion, then do so, cause it's your car, your dosh, and your garage it get's parked in. pos/neg. responses are typically part and parcel of such an idea, and yes it does keep our forum lively.Enjoy it 4 what it is.......your car ! !Personally, it's not my choice, but ........................ I guess you guys are slightly more passionate than the average car enthusiest who appreciates a wider variety of cars.To me fitting a lumpy bonnet is no different than fitting 18" wheels, leather trim, scuff plates or sports steering wheels etc, which like the bonnet, are purely for looks and add no performance to the car whatsoever. But they put a smile on your dial, make you happy and help you to enjoy your toy.

If you like it, do it.BTW whats it gonna cost, by the time you buy it and have it painted its gotta be getting towards $2k?
