Wow, I can't believe you're seriously thinking of selling that awesome T! As some of the others have said though, it's a sad fact that you never get back what you put into these cars (financially), something my wife constantly reminds me of!! :gooff:

A new project would be fun, but hell, after all that hard work I'd be tempted to sit back and enjoy it at least a while longer mate! :spoton:

Just as an aside, as a result of you being a member of this forum, and making it on to the front cover of Performance Ford, I went and bought my first ever issue the other day! Nice work mate, I was very impressed! Could I just ask what the two red switches in front of your auto stick do? Switching between maps and auto shift modes? :kissmy:

If you want to spend money or do another project then.. I say continue with the T one. Make it quicker. Get low 10s and push more out of the T? Don't leave us :(

The two red switches do exactly that. The one closest to the driver is for maps and the other is for shift firmness.

Some good imput guys. A few of you are right, it would be hard having an 8 and getting flogged by all my mates in their T's. I don't believe the full potential of the Boss motor has been realised yet and I'd find it a great challenge to try to get one to go real quick.

We'll see what happens. when Renata heard about this idea I think she nearly had a heart attack.

The only thing that would be cooler than an XR6T would be an XR8T! Someone photoshop up some badge engineering...

Nice!

Thanks for that Geea, any chance of telling me where one could find these types of switches? :spoton:

Buy an XR8 and purchase a nice screw blower, don't waste your time with a Vortech.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Had much experience with Vortech's?

I didnt see any screw type blowers at Horsepower Heroes this year, but I saw plenty of Vortech's making over 1000 hp at the wheels.....

Screw blowers are old school, they are very difficult to intercool efficiently on the street.

Look at all the Mustangs over in the States, the majority of them are running centrifugal blowers.

If you do go screw, you will have to cut a rather large hole in your bonnet.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

There's nothing wrong with Vortech's, but they need to build boost with revs, which doesn't help getting a 1800kg XR8 up and running from the start line. Instant torque is whats required. The fastest Vortech blown Boss is only running 12.5's, only a tenth quicker than the fastest NA at 12.6, so they are not producing the numbers they should run.

Would a screw type blower fit under the bonnet on a ba Boss?

Ignoring the dribble about how slow XR8s are... I would be turboing the XR8 rather than SC. No doubt you know that Rod's pursuit has run 131.something mph without being leaned on tuning wise and standard stall etc ( with slicks ). The 260 could take more boost because of the lower compression ratio.

Mind you, I would keep the T and aim for 9s
