I’m not sure why you guys are getting all defensive at this AMoffat clown – I can’t even understand what he is trying to say!  But from your responses I assume it’s nothing worth understanding in any case.

Trent.

These things can happen to anyone.. Even the most experienced drivers crash.

I had an accident in my XR8 and I was only going 30km/h when I aquaplain...And Im not calling myself an expert driver either.....

So I think we just all need to chill.. And just be happy no one was hurt...

Then please explain...

I have had traction "off" / right foot down / and lets see how fast my correction is on a wet road.

But guess what?

No other f*cker was around..

Stupid me, I should have made it exciting, right?

Yeah I can see by all the work you have done to your car especially your rear window sticker, you wouldnt have trouble controling the power in your car. and by the way alan is one of the safest drivers on this site

Let's get one thing straight....

Glad your OK.

I usually ride a over powered motorcycle for transport and fun.  There is no going back from mistakes.  189 kgs and 122 kws put through a couple of inches of Bridgestones makes you pay attention...

f*ckin' getting amongst 240 plus in the wet is stupid.  My insurance premium will thank you,,,,,

f*ckin' not

Same here. 180hp (134kw) and 170kg. To be honest, it makes driving a T in the wet seem kind of tame. Pretty much any gear at any speed, you can lose it....and that's in the dry :)

Everyone take it easy. Especially in rain after a dry spell. And dont accelerate hard unless you are going very slow (for fun), or aimed straight! Things like merging and other non-straight driving arent good times to give it the beans when its wet. Best to wait that extra 2 seconds until the merge is done and you are aiming dead straight, then accelerate harder.

Even a slight off-straight attitude makes a whole lot of difference to the physics at play as you are effectively starting to spin like a top or a pendulum when you are not going straight...slowly at first but if you are unlucky, it can become a whole lot faster!

CSI, sorry to hear about your baby and also think you're damned lucky looking at those photo's. I know how you feel, but mine was repairable.

Cheers,

In retrospect I was a little over the top the other night.

Yes sh*tty things can happen to you - as I said when I binned a Ducati.

I did jump to a conclusion and appologise if I upset the guy who lost the car...
