there are 5 XR6T's for sale in Adelaide at the moment (at a ford dealer) prices start at $29,990

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Yea you have to love WA!!

Just doing a quick search on autotrader.com.au for a XR6T Australia wide and there are a few of them for under $30k and most are 03 models with options.

The prices here suck! Plus we have to pay the one of highest stapy duty and transfer rates in the country. On a $35k car its about $2500, so really the $35k car is a $37.5k car.

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Wow, here in the ACT stamp duty on a $35K T would be a little over $1000, you guys are getting ripped off... :tease:

Apparently the auto is quicker in a 1/4 mile. Manual likely to be quicker on a track, or road course involving corners etc. Auto smoother, manual (in my opinion) is more fun. Manual a lot rarer (resale prices higher?).

T56 can take more power without mods than auto (if fitted with better clutch). T5 - doesnt seem to be able to be strengthened when hitting lots of power after mods, though lots are using ok.

If you are planning on keeping it stock or close to stock, only edit. Then I recon go for man or auto. But overall I recon the auto would be better in the T as many have said here. Plus all the fast T's are auto.

.........Finally every 9 out of 10 Ts in WA are auto.

yeah but that's a real *beep* when I'm looking for a manual. I'd say almost more then 9 out of 10.

if I did mod my car I prob wouldn't go over 300rwkw. considering they are near 200 stock. but at this stage mods won't be even considered. bank balance won't permit.

the hunt continues.

Yeah auto's are faster down the 1/4..

But if you are only modding it too 300kw , im pretty sure the manual can handle that with only a few mods...But man if you want a manual buy a manual..

Have you test drove both though?
