I have had the Tornado chirp 2nd whenever I'm quik on the changes, and I've chirped 3rd twice now, both times I chirped 3rd, I was really trying and had sweet changes thru the gate, but remembering you land the 2-3 change in the 4200rpm sweet spot, it's bang on power as soon as you change..As for the drop in boost, I hardly noticed much 1-2, and seeing as revs only drop 700ish rpm per change, I find it hard to believe that it's lag.. The 'original' map I test drove months ago in the typhoon sedan lagged badly after 1-2 change and 2-3, this has been improved with the pcm upgrade. I mentioned this to my rep whan we went for a squirt in the foon firstly and the Tornado, even he agreed it didn't suffer as much after a gearchange with the pcm upgrade. I have an edit, needs a fine tune, but I can't comment on if the boost drops because the map in there now is completely different in it's delivery. To save injector, boost comes on late. Once the map has boost dropped in the top end, and brought on earlier, I'll let u know how it goes. I really think there won't be a boost drop when it's finished..Being fly by wire, anything could happen, maybe it holds the tb shut momentearily after re applying the pedal, making sure everything is moving and meshed together to sustain driveline integrity, makes sense..???who knows.. There is one that does it out of the carpark at work all the time. Takes off slow in 1st, the bang, grabs 2nd with a heap of spin. I love it. Isn't it funny how the Typhoon is only managing to get the times that the XR6T Series I cars were doing two years ago? AND the Series II XR6Ts are nearly half a second slower than Series I?? Something smells very fishy at Ford ...
