As you know I have a new boy and we have 2 baby capsules. As I do not want to drive SWMBO's Kluger much, I have fitted the second Safe and Sound Capsule in my car.

The only anchor point I found is in the center of the rear seat, so I wanted to find out how people have found this location.

The Kluger's capsule is fitted on the rear passenger side, this makes it much easier to get him in/out.

Should I move the anchor point to one of the sides ?

What have people found using the center location.

Thanks

Zap,

Go to the outside point they are hard enough to manoeuvre about at the best of times without having to reach further in, plus we have two boys and having some distant between them is certainly for the best that way we don't have to worry about the older one using the little one's face as a colouring in book! BTW Congratulations on the new addition!

we have a seven week old and having it in the centre is actually very good..... I will get flamed for this but when driving and if the baby is screaming, either the driver or passenger can easily stick a hand over to comfort the baby... also getting the baby in is very easy... I sit in the seat and place baby in... very easy, the T has plenty of space and I definately wouldnt want to move it to the side. Hope that helps :crybaby:

We always had our bub in the middle incase the car was hit in the side. Also if travelling with the sun on one side she wouldn,t get fried and the vents from the air cond front and rear could be directed at the capsule.Kerbside if you change to a side location.Saw a woman taking a baby out of a capsule on the drivers side, nearly a double fatality from passing traffic :fool: Congrats on the addition to the tribe :pinch:

Thanks guys, I will try it in the middle and see how it goes. I like the safety of having it in the middle, plus the ability to have easy access when driving. I will need to see how easy it is to get him in/out with it in the middle.

Thanks for the replies.

Couldn't agree with you more.

Fantastic how these cars can be family transport one minute, HSV burners the next.

I have had a child seat in the middle since the day I bought the car. I prefer that location especially for side impact protection.

I'm sure you'll notice that it's not too bad.

Congratulations again on the new addition.

 Too true mate, that's rather funny!

This topic a bit like half a dozen of one, six of another. I'm a fan of having the capsule on one side. I see your point about side impacts and the sun, and they're very valid. But I personally would find it too much of a hassle to put the bubba in if the seat was in the middle.

Also, when we took the seat for a check-up at our local Childsafe (think that's what they call themselves), they recommended that the capsule be put behind the passenger seat. They did cite some safety related reason for this, which I can't recall for the life of me, but it's one of the reasons why we've always done it this way.

Oh yeah, and I actually find I can quite easily reach the bub from the driver's seat if I need to. But I don't actually do that when I'm driving of course! :glad::glad:
