Just ordered my new mark ii, I get it in 2 weeks, I am looking at some edits and have read about big ones but does the cappa edit have a power limit??

any info would be great...

I don't think it's the edit you have to worry about, more worry should go into the engine and transmission!

yeah I understand and I have replacments for all of that I just do not want to get the edit and then have to upgrade it in 6 months...

From the results seen so far, car with edits (and all thes rest) are easily reaching 350+rwkw (BadXR6, xlnt6, xarh6 etc) so unless you're getting a Nizpro Stage 67 you shouldn't need a Motech or similar.

Its always a risk you take when hotting up a car you never know what will happen

I think edit will take 450rwkw no problem past there I dont know yet we will see soon enough

But remember 450rwkw is a low 10 second car now that fast

From what I understand Brain (BCL) is running a motech. He is also running near on 600RwKw and the car is relatively godlike :nono:

Unsure what your actually talking about, but if your saying " I have read about some big ones" are you meaning, you have seen some powerfull kits?

The CAPA unit it'sself doesn't have a 'power limit' because it's a tool, used for tuning. It's like saying, does my spanner have a power limit. It just doesn't... Your exhaust has a power limit, as does your transmission or clutch, aswell as your fuel system and every other component in your car..

BUT, there may be a point where a more sophisticated tuning tool might be needed, bcl has 600RWKW, and is using Motec as a management system, but I think he could run an edit based tuning system if he chose to.

Your engine will self distruct before the edit does, unless you spend bulk $$ on modifications to engine, driveline, fuel, suspension, etc etc etc etc etc.

Change each piece in order of weakness, and you will end up with a car going as fast as is proportional to the depth of your wallet/common sense.

At this stage no.

My advice was that the Motec would drive the 1000cc injectors a lot better, I’m not sure that the recent cam control issues are fully sorted with the Edit at higher revs with modified cams (remember that I rev to 7500 revs, not 5800), and the Motec cam option gives me independent cam control that the Edit cannot provide, thus giving better low down torque to offset the lag of the bigger turbo.

Also Simon has 2 years of Motec tuning behind him with the BA turbo.

Having said that, I know that Nizpro are currently running cars with the Edit comfortably at power levels of 400-450 rwkw, and this power level is more than adequate for most people.
