Hi BLK6T,

There is no comparison....End of story!

Ok, The Turbo may be great when your cainning it around, but that's not when you enjoy it the most. When driving like a normal person, the effortless acceleration in any gear is what make these cars sooo good and addictive to drive..IMO anyway.

The torque produced with the T at 2500rpm is equivalent to the LS1 at full noise >4500rpm.

To cut a long story short, get you future out-laws to drive a F6 sedan and if they have something bad to say about the power and its delivery, they should stick to Holden’s.

I will never own a GM again.

Hope this helps.

Cheers

Yes its true...I finally got delivery.

My review of it is as follows....after 60klm of running in.. NOT!

The power.

With only 90k's on the clock the power is ok but could be better. First gear starts spinning when revs hit 3500rpm... very nice....BUT...  The biggest problem is when changing gears, the power is cut back by the ECU for a second or so before getting up and moving again. This happens with the traction control off, regardless if I flat change or not...This is my biggest disappointment with this vehicle!! I now understand why it performs so bad in the 1/4 mile runs. If this sh*tty limiter was removed, and the full power was available during gear changes, the F6 would easily rip mid/high 13's and be way more enjoyable to drive (Thrash).

Does the Stealth/CAPA ECU upgrade thingies remove this nasty characteristic?

The rest of the car...

Looks as good as the pictures, Drives well, Brakes VERY WELL!.

After driving it for day, I would still choose  Typhoon if I was to buy another car. It is a good combination of Taxi, Family Car, Race Car, Drag Car, Rally Car all in one package.

Great Car...

Cheers.

Good on you turbocorty :spoton: .

Mate get a few klms up on it and then get it edited. If you choose a good tuner then the in gear drop off will be gone as will a few other unhelpful things, good choice of colour. I liked mine so much that I bought another, enjoy it, they definately grow on you, especially after you slap a few HSVs into submission :msm::laughing:

Well done on the purchase!!!

Great colour too!!!!

Not sue I understand the problem with power backing off between gears? Motor pretty much said the same thing in their recent comparo with the clubbie. I seem to be able to break traction between the 1-2 shift and the 2-3 shift bog standard.

Like the motor mag said, you need to familiarize yourself with the car before you can trust it. I have a private road nearby where I have become quite familiar with the F6 limits........very impressed.

When you drive the car at 10/10ths you really begin to appreciate what its all about. It really takes a lot of foolishness to get the car out of shape.

Keep driving it and it just gets better

I actually disagree.... I found it quite easy to get it unstable, cornering wasn't as sure footed as hoped at speed, and standard brakes are NOT up to hard punnishment.. No confidence in high speed braking from this end..

I must say that I'm with Mr Utey on this one.

Examplis gratis, the other day I changed lanes (I'd been indicating for nine or ten seconds and the b**ch wasn't going to slow to let me in, and my turn was coming up) in a somewhat... assertive manner, and all it took was a modest squirt on the pedal in 2nd (at about 50km/h) and the action of changing lanes, and the back end decided to misbehave fairly reasonably. I would call the situation I was in a pretty normal and frequently occurring one, so I'd say that the F6s can be dirty little tarts when they want to be.

(Yes, I caught the back end, yes we all made it safely through everything, yes I was wearing a big grin on my dial, and yes I still had time for a mild remonstration towards She Who Wouldn't Let Me Merge, and No, I wasn't being a hoon or a dickhead at the time. I was attempting to exercise my legal right to request a merge into another lane and was denied.)
