guys I think you all need to grow up

I just happened to stubble upon this thread through Google

and was appaled with what I read

how many of you boof heads actually know anything about skylines

not just what you have heard from your mates mate that thinks he knows about cars

I highly rate the New XR6 turbo

but you really need to understand that all this "outstanding performance and technology" that has come about in the last year or two

Nissan actually did in 1989, actually that was only the GTR but before that in the early 80's the humble FJ20 turbo (4 cyl) was nissans first turbo performance engine

I think that you would be probably be better off comparing maybe a r32 GTs-t a 2 litre (yes a 2ltr) which is now 15 years old

in terms of bang for buck a skyline will walk away every time

and those that have "claimed " to have beaten a "GTR" in a slightly modded XR6 turbo need to wake up to themselves

these cars absolutly stock produce arund 190kw at all four wheels

with just a exhaust upgrade they make 230kw at all four

I think all these talkers need to come down to WSID for street meets on wen nights

id love to see you hand to the GTR's I really would but I just dont see it happening

Back on topic. I think a tomato is the schiznit!

and while we are talking money

a GTR can cost as low as $18,000 for a early model

which also has the RB26DETT

albiet the latest BNR34 GTR has the neo version which has variable exhaust cam timing

which I have seen advertised for around $65,000

so yeah you can spend another 30 grand and have a monster performer

and handles well

but this is not about money

forget what they cost and just compare the cars themselves its not all bout money

as some people would have to pay more than others for the same part and maybe able to install themself others dont I personally know people that dont know jack about the car they own they just throw the keys to the work shop and leave the cheaque book there aswell and say "do what it takes, I want ....this much power" bla bla bla

if you where given a stock GTR apart from Exhaust and filter

and the same XR6 turbo a GTR will clean up all the trophies on anyday of the week in every department

trust me ive been a passanger in both

the XR6 is a good car dont get me wrong (its bout time ford cought on to the turbo performance scene) but the power delivery is so diff in both cars and they are two differant cars for two differant purposes

rb20silvia,

I think you will find a lot of mis-informed people on any forum.

The amount of people trying to tell me what boost/engine size/quarter mile times the XRT has/does on other forums (I.e. silvia, wrx, etc..) is insane. 5 psi, 10psi, 7psi, 3 litre, 5 litre, 13 second, 16 second, etc...

The one thing that does make identification of our cars a lot easier is that there is just one model (power wise) to this date.

The Skylines have different models, and it doesn't make it any easier that almost every kid in his/hers NA/GTST Skyline have GTR body kits and badges everywhere but their foreheads.

I believe our members here who have spanked a GTR did in-fact only spank a Skyline with a GTR bodykit/badge. As mentioned above they would have no way of knowing as there are so many models/shapes/sizes to memorise.

People with knowledge of other cars, not just their own will know that a GTR will beat a stock/slightly modded XRT every time without breaking a sweat and they just can not be compared (as many have already mentioned here).

Anyway, I think it's time to close this down...
