I am sorry. I still lack to see your point. So going by this because the T is cheaper and can be modded to go faster IN A STRAIGHT LINE it makes it the best car in the world? Get over yourself. The Ferrari Enzo and Porsche Carrera GT cost more then most peoples houses, even 2 or 3 times the price of their houses. They only run low to mid 11's in the ¼ so they are crap because a modded T could beat it? Why not buy a old mazda, dump a big HP rotor in it and it willbe quicker then a T for a lot cheaper? Makes it a better car? A better buy? NO OF COURSE NOT!

It takes more then a quick ¼ mile time to be a sports car, it requires braking, turning... Yes a sports car needs the complete package. The T WILL NEVER match any real sports car like a GT-R or Ferrari in this because of one major thing. Its weight. the T is a TANK!

Mate, let me make it simple for you, for an 2003 enzo cost around au$850 k, give me 200k of that, and I will give you a T that can do a circuit lap faster then a enzo. plus you only can set 2 people in a enzo, also you have to be under 80 kg to fit in a enzo. only thing that makes a enzo expensive is the tag. and they only make so many of them. now coming back to GTR, do u seriously think that it is the best sport car in the world for that money. like those gentlemen said that gtr z tune cost around 220k, give me half of that, and I will you T with same spec. also an enzo weight about 3230 lbs

another thing a Skyline GTR 2002 R34 Nur weight about 3968 IBS and the T weight about 3800 lbs. The Nur (Nürburgring) edition is the final edition of the R34 Skyline GT-R. It features a racing version of the Inline-6 that will push upwards of 450 horsepower when unrestricted. Only 1000 were made

so here we go for your weight problem, Skyline GTR 2002 R34 Nur weight is heavier then the T. so if you are paying that extra just for the traction and suspension, then it is not worth it mate, spend that much on Your T, you will have much better result.

yeah, as said that a enzo cost 2 to 3 times some people's house, it just depends where you live.

As soon as one compared a car such as the T to a Ferrari Enzo it really shows how much they know. Do you realise how stupid you look to anyone who has a clue when comparing this? Where did I ever write GT-R is the best car in the world for its price? I do not remember ever writting that, maybe you could quote me on it so I can see? It doesn't matter if you spend $200,000 on a T, at the end of the day it is STILL A FORD FALCON XR6 Turbo. Your a clown, I can't believe I am wasting this time trying to point it out to you so you stop before you make a total idiot of yourself :tease: I hope it improves you a little bit.

Just curious, how many Enzo's have you been in? I am well over 80kg and fit in both drivers and passenger seats fine on the Enzo. Do yourself a favour. Don't be a bogan all your life. Try experiance other cars and learn what it is all about. Living where I do I get to experiance many exotic cars both as a passenger and a driver(which leads me to the houses point next). So until you actually have really driven these fine SPORTS CARS, please try to understand once again, the T IS GOOD FOR WHAT IT IS. NEVER TRY PLACE IT IN A CLASS WITH REAL HIGH PERFORMANCE SPORTS CARS.

Prices of houses, I said as much or even 2-3 times as much for some people... but I guess you are just trying to have everyone think you own an expensive home? By the way living with your parents in their big home doesn't mean it's yours :fool:

Since you seem so interested in home costs. A basic 2-3 bedroom home in my area is only US$400-450,000. More then the price of the Enzo costs here. :spoton:

I just dont get why people say you cant compare this car to that car. there is 5 pages of the stuff so to everyone out there who says you cannot compare a t to a gtr, I say YES YOU CAN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

motor magazines do it all the time and they even compare $200,000 cars to cars that cost $60,000.

this gives readers some idea as to howmuch different they are to each other and how similar they can also be in some respects.

motor are now doing this, I read comparos between a porche carrerra and an evo. they also compared a nissan z to another overy priced sports car, so everybody get over those comments and lets have a rational discussion on the subject.

as I said before motor also compared a typhoon, a gtr v spec and a charger.

a gtr vs an old charger, now that cannot be possible can it...........of course it can because they have done it.

don`t get me wrong the skylines are a great car, but depending on which skyline you line up and what has been done to it.

the gts-t is a 2.5t and the xr is a 4.0t they are diffrent cars the skyline was a road ready track car,

I have owned 3 skylines and I sell fords. I have owned 3 xr6Ts and an xr8

now the gts-t is like the xr6 with around the same power, although the xr6 is heavyer,

but the xr6 turbo will always pull ahead of a gts-t both in stock form.

you have to remember that the skyline has been around almost 15 years longer then the xr6 turbo and has a massive folowing in japan and australia so the aftermarket parts have had alot more r & d on it.

the GTR would be a good match up for the XR6T although the GTR is a 4wd Twin turbo.

I lined a R33 GTR up at the creek he had stent $3000 on his motor,

he got me off the launch but at the top of every gear I pulled him in.

I ran a 13.5

he ran a 13.2

my T was almost stock.

you have to compare apples with apples.

and remember that the skylines target market was very diffrent to the XR6T`s market.

at the end of the day it is all good fun

Just launched, the limited-edition R-34 GT-R Z-tune packs a fully reworked 368kW engine, race-spec suspension and brakes and costs $220,000.

Only 20 will be built, essentially to whet the appetites of potential buyers for the next-generation GT-R due in late 2007.

Engineers leaned heavily on 15 years of racing experience from the R32 through to the phased-out R34, with their main inspiration coming from last year's Japan Grand Touring Championship GT-R GT500 race car.

Obviously only able to use secondhand GT-Rs, Nismo project team staffer Kojun Iwata says, "we went through dozens of GT-Rs looking for cars that had no body damage and under 30,000km on the clock". Then they stripped the cars down to the body shell and transformed each machine into a road-going race car.

And the result is a car that takes your breath away. Looking like a GT-R on steroids, the Z-tune has lightweight aeroparts whose only goal in life is to maximise cooling efficiency to the engine bay and brakes.

As can be expected, acceleration mirrors that of a GT-R GT500 race car. With its beefy-sounding exhaust tuned to just undercut noise limits, the stock 2.6-litre straight-six twin-turbo, bored out to 2.8-litres, is packed full of race engine internals. Pumping out 368kW at 6800rpm and 540Nm at 5200rpm, Iwata says he could easily tweak the car to a maximum of 463kW but then he'd have to worry about emissions regulations.

Nismo's in-house data has the Z-tune covering 400m in just 10.06 seconds and we believe them. Jump on the six-piston Brembo brakes with 365mm rotors and you'd better be ready for nearly 2Gs of deceleration as the Potenza RE-01R tyres chirp and struggle to absorb the forces. The fade-resistant brakes are phenomenal.

The beefier torque down low permits instant acceleration in any gear and makes pottering around town far less stressful than the base R34, even in 6th gear at 2000rpm.

The steering is pinpoint, direct and feels ideally weighted for such a car.

Incorporating a fully reinforced chassis, this GT-R also gets specially tuned, race-spec Sachs dampers, costing $8000 a corner and delivering a ride quality unheard of in a car of this spec. Depending on where you wish to drive your Z-tune, you can either have it delivered with stock Potenza high-performance road tyres or track-ready semi-slicks.

Inside, the leather and Alacantara-covered seats are comfortable but could do with more side support for quick cornering. A 320kmh speedo and titanium gear knob hint at what the Z-tune is capable of on the track.

The Skyline R34 has been resurrected for its swansong performance and what a way to go out: flat out around a race track. The upcoming 2007 model GT-R is also expected to house a 360kW-plus twin turbocharged 3.2-litre V6.

I agree who gives a :spoton: who cares if some twit thinks his GTR is better than your T I for one wouldnt lose any sleep over it, I drive my T because I chose it not because I culdn't afford somthing else I love my T and value for money doesn't come into it. :laughing:

I have a BA XR6T and a modified (slightly) GTSt, both are great cars in different ways. but in sweeping generalizations the BA is good for around town and the skyline is good for hte hills.

Both are very different to drive, yet fun in their own way.

One area Ford have yet to match Nissan in, is build quality. The fords seem cheap and plastic in comparison to the quality of the fittings and over-engineering I encounter with the Nissan. (I am not talking about styles here, each has their own preference there)

I guess the Fords will have a lot more rattles and problems when they are 10yrs old than a 10yr old skyline)

I like my ford, but I dont think I will keep it as ling as the Skyline.

agree'd.

and exaresix, your comparing T's to skylines. lets leave them STANDARD to compare. yours isnt stock so why bother with half that rant?

Because stock for stock they are quite comparable.

My car is modded, yes. Heavily? I wouldn't say so...

The skyline was also modded. Heavily? Looked it. I can guarantee he's spent alot more money on mods than I.

Both cars are inline turbo sixes. Both are rear wheel drive, hipo cars. Both cars respond in very similar ways to modifications, with very similar modification options.

XR6T conquers with abundance of torque, where Skyline conquers from it's lightweight and capable chassis.

I think it's justified comparing a modified skyline to a modified XR6T. :spoton:
