with that second video, I don't think you should shut off the engine immediately after revving the motor.. dunno if it can ruin the bearings in the turbo?

I dont know either but I never do it & was trying to do a video of it revving and not being a massive file to upload.

I drove it round this morning and you can drive it loud if you want to or just drive normal and it is fairly quiet if you know what I mean

I have the rear muffler removed in my Ute, it doesn't drone but is very loud when just idling, and I didn't notice it until headsex notice how loud it was. It isn't that bad in the cabin, but I haven't heard a standard one either.

I'll take some video's tonight when I'm warming it up to show you the difference in the sound. There is a video of the centre removal on here some where too, this will allow you to compare to two. I may even do a drive by to see what its like to hear from out side the car too when passing others.

I gave a good exhaust shop a call near me and he says that its a bit of a hard job cause of the way its set up so it would cost about $180.

question is: is getting the centre muffler removed worth $180?

cheers

Yeah I had the same thing on saturday. I asked the bloke to remove the center muffler, he quoted aroud $150-$200. He suggested I save up and go for a full xforce system instead. It kinda makes sense if you think about it. By the time you pull out the center muffler ($200) buy a hi-flow cat ($400) your half way there. The Xforce system with 4" dump and 3.5" straight through system is about $1400-$1500, and this includes the hi-flow cat.... so in the scheme of things its a tough call...

I guess you also have to factor in you will need a tune after fitting the exhaust as well, whereas probably not just for the center muffler removal.

not too much if you get a full x-force system along with a tune your looking at a fair amount of power and have to change your injectors and and valve springs..

if u wanna stay under or around the 300rwkw mark u get a tune or an x-force system in my opinion.

It is probly the way to go if your gonna change to a hi flow cat too but its not if u just want centre muffler removed.

But is the $180 worth it?? Does it do anything apart from change the sound?

For $180 it is not worth it IMO.

If you can buy a set 2nd hand like I did for $50 then it is worth it.

Haven't noticed a performance gain but it sure is louder.
