Vik, why are you moonlighting? Or is that an Alias?

Mate thanks for the tip, took a look at the Pic, sounds good. Had to put 2 resenators on my old TX3 as it droned to the point it made your ears drums burst!

Can you remember how much the Dogs cost?

Geea, hope you don't mind me cutting up the system? :spoton:

Cut away JB, hope you get the result you're after.

The car is booked in for gearbox repairs this week, and hopefully I'll finally have a T5 that works as it should.

If the repairs work out, one of the first mods I'm looking to undertake is to remove the centre muffler and replace it with a new flanged, mandrel bent section + 2 hot dogs to keep the noise down. :nono:

Has anyone had this done in Brisbane?

How much did it cost?

Would you recommend your supplier?

Thanks in advance

Cheers

Hello all,

I had the centre muffler removed from the ute yesterday and replaced with mandrel bent pipes, and it sound ok, a bit of a drone below 2000rpm at light throttle, but is good at highway speeds 80-110kph.

Now a question, has anyone here dyno their car before and after this mod. I ask because to me the ute doesn’t “feel” any quicker, maybe it is but it doesn’t feel it, it runs better up the top, 5000rpm up, but down low feels a bit dead, maybe it’s the noise.

I would like to see some before and after dyno sheets if anyone has them for an Auto with this done.

Now all I need to do is decide what “chip” to put in, I have half the money and am saving madly for the other half. The list so far in no particular order is Excede, TSI, Haltech and I like the sounds of what the EMS can do but might be a bit Hi Tech for me to get my head around.

I would like to get to a reliable (read safe AFR) 250 rwkw on 98ron fuel without changing the exhaust and injectors if I can, if that’s a bit hard then injectors will have to go on along with fuel pump I suppose.

Thanks heaps.

Had mine done in WA however as a price guide $350 got me 2 1/2 inc. mandrel bent with twin mantra hot dogs, flanged, with the offer to buy back for $250. if unhappy with result. I am sure you could get done cheaper however the guys I used are recognised for quality of product and service.

This is the way to go imo as the sound is sweet without being too in your face, bearing in mind it is a 6 cyl. turbo. The sound on start up and idle alone justifies the $$ spent. Improved throttle response is a noticeable benefit. :spoton:
