Car had that nice crackle under decel and drone wasn't an issue.I'm now running a full twin 2.5" mandrel bent exhaust with 2 hot dogs in the centre, a john bowe performance rear muffler, 4" dump, 5" high flow cat and the car sounds abit like a deeper version of an R35 skyline only better only thing is it drones under load (going up an incline) at 110kph with abit more onboard weight in the car.Only seems to be a bother going up inclines when we are going away and the car is loaded to the tilt.. not enough to worry me at all.Pros outweigh cons. I said what about a hotdog they said they can do that or put in a 3" resonator? which he reckons is the same as a hotdog but does a better job.. can anymore comfirm or deny this point? it's going to cost me an extra $100. spinr33 Donating Members 964 Member For: 13y 4m 13d Posted 20/06/12 06:58 AM Share Posted 20/06/12 06:58 AM (edited) This is just a round muffler straight through packed probably either either should do the trick , the hot dog is not packed I believe and is just a straight through pipe with perforations to bounce the exhaust flow around abit. The round muffler will be quiter then the hot dog I dk how the sedans exhaust is but if you removed a muffler is it not 2 pipes in 2 pipes out where if you just put a muffler in further down stream would be a restriction rather then 2 hotdogs where the muffler was removed maybe someone who has done this on a sedan might comment Edited 20/06/12 07:05 AM by spinr33
broke Donating Members 229 Member For: 13y 2m 16d Gender: Male Posted 20/06/12 07:22 AM Share Posted 20/06/12 07:22 AM yeah when I had a look under the car it came off the cat and split into 2 x 2 1/4 pipes then back into a single 3" so my the mod was just the single piece of pipe into the rear muffler.
