I meant it in a sense that I may like the sound without hotdogs. but it's not a mod im completely sold on doing at all at the moment. guys on here seem to be 50/50 but the muffler place said it's a worth while mod that they've done to quite a few falcons over the years. but I'll ask for prices on both routes and if my budget allows then ill do hot dogs from the get go. im going to be dropping a fair bit of cash on the car in the next few days im not sure if ive over spent yet so exhaust is way at the bottom at the moment.

no probs broke

just dont forget to weigh up your options. cause if you go straight pipes, then later on you get a dump and cat done, it maybe the tipping point for being way too loud! then you will have to spend more cash getting hotdogs put in.

yeah mate, I totally agree. id rather do it right first time than have to go back because I was too cheap. with the hotdog option, im guessing 1 per pipe is required? would these work?

auto or manual?

seems like if you have an auto then dont remove your centre muffler as you will more likely get drone???

Nah that's crap, I have the centre muffler removed with the auto and no drone at any speed, as I have said.

Anyone done a rear muffler removal? Been doing a bit of reading around and found the use of rear muffler removal with Helmholtz chambers works really effectively on commodores to eliminate the drone. Without the Helmholtz chamber apparently it's drone city..

You'll see the 'J' pipe on the lower muffler.. This is just a sealed bend (only open where it welds into the exhaust) approximately 29" long with a 180 degree bend in the middle to match to 115Hz frequency engines in the Commodores.. Makes it louder and apparently eliminates drone..

Surely the same principle could be applied to the falcons..
