As I have amply demonstrated, I am a technical monger, but from my understanding the exhaust system and the injectors were used riht from the very start as two ways of "controlling" (re: reducing) the power output of the "Seagull" motor, as it was known at the time.And no, Motor magazine was not the only place I hears that stupid name.
