So would you say that it still sounds like a stock car (just a little louder), or obviously been "tampered with" exhaust? Because I need a little more sound, but not spending over $500 haha

I would have to say, that it sounds nothing like the stock exhaust setup, and, I would have to say, you definitely get more power, after driving around for a week now (1000km's), it's snapping second soooo much harder and I'm hitting an extra gear in sections of roads I couldn't normally get to, unless I've become super awesome and can all of a sudden drive heaps better, there is definitely a power increase.

For ~$100 (virtually free if you cut and weld yourself), I think you will be impressed, and, this mod isn't a "tampered with" exhaust, because it is actually a restricting point in the exhaust and you are freeing up flow (documented on here numerous times and I personally agree from experience).

In saying that, mines a BFII...

For the sound alone, I wouldn't hold back, if you are like me, and live in pure manual tiptronic land all day everyday and never have it in drive, it is quite a nice sound just idling around town and slowing down at the lights with the "pops n burble"... love it.

Has reignited my passion for the beast again :)

With the std cat still there I dont think it'd have a power gain. Noise can make the brain think things thou.

aha, thanks for that reply! Yes I drive in manual mode all the time, except on the highway. How does it sound going 100+?

What I meant by "tampered with" was, is it as loud as a full system?

Its weird cause some cars in the past with this exact mod sound like tractors, maybe it's a manual thing or luck of the draw.

I don't know if many FG's have done this mod yet as they are noticeably louder as is, keen to here from anyone that has.

Yea I am waiting for some FG owners who have done this mod. I don't want to spend over $1000 for a little more noise and that needed crackle...

Hey fellas, yeh I have done the mod at windsor exhaust which set me back around 110. I have done this mod to both a BA Mk2 XR6T ute and my now FG XR6T sedan . Let me tell you the fg sounds bloody amazing in tiptronic mode. The ute was slightly louder inside the cab but that's due to the lack of cabin insulation in the back wall. But the sedan is definatly louder on the outside of the car, so if you have an fg sedan or even a ute, ded set go for it. It definatly unleashes a bit of power also, im 100 percent sure about it. Make sure you take the centre out, NOT THE REAR.

I rate it 4.5/5 fellas. I cannot however comment on the manual cars, but id say its not much different than the zf in semi-auto mode

cheers
