I also got the middle muffler replaced with twin resonators. The car will be getting extractors and a high flow cat soon which should make the whole thing sound alot better, but I was thinking of replacing my rear muffler with twin resonators/hotdogs aswell. I wonder what it would sound like, any ideas? Ideally id like to retain the same style of sound and tone with just more volume, which is why I think resonators may be better than straight thru pipes. Anyway here are a few video clipshttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lRs28Py-lvQhttp://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_sXOciIyH6s

mercuryturbo Oh look.... a real car, with no hair dryer Donating Members 1,724 Member For: 18y 5m 21d Gender: Male Location: Fear and Loathing in Callala Bay Posted 10/06/08 07:50 AM Share Posted 10/06/08 07:50 AM Finally got my set of centre pipes today off a forum member (thanks jetfpv for your repeated calls to Aus post) & fitted them up in my drive way this arvo.First up, really easy to fit. Took about 45 mins all up. Car is a fair bit louder (no hot dogs) & sounds really tough when you rev it.Still not sure if I like the noise whilst driving, its not too obtrusive but after years of driving V-8's I'm still waiting for the sound of a hot 6 to grow on me, but I guess im probably alone here on that one. I'll drive it around for a bit longer & if im still unsure I'll probably chuck a set of Hot Dogs on it.

QLD Posted 02/07/08 03:15 AM Share Posted 02/07/08 03:15 AM (edited) I've just had my centre muffler replaced with twin pipes... Its loud, but it feels like I've lost a bit of power... Could this be possible? Doesn't seem to be as rev happy. My car is stock. The exhaust shop guys said it sounds like my Cat has been hollowed out too. (Doubt it though... maybe they're not used to hearing the XR6t with no central muffler?) If it is hollowed out, is this necessarily a bad thing?I'll record it tonight to show how it sounds...
