Guest PSIXR6 Guests Posted 16/12/04 12:48 AM Share Posted 16/12/04 12:48 AM Hey ppls, I got mine done yesterday, and I love the sound. Had it done with no hotdogs and I think its a bit over the top - sounds like a supra. I think I will will put 2 dogs in it to kill a bit off the droan. Had it done for $80, and was told $220 for the hotdogs fitted. For northern melb veiwers call Glenroy Exhausts, 12 Dennis St Campbellfield VIC ph: (03) 9308 0310. Has anyone noticed a power increase, I recall when Zoom did this mod to there ute they saw power go from 190rwkw too 207rwkw.!!!

Guest PSIXR6 Guests Posted 16/12/04 02:18 AM Share Posted 16/12/04 02:18 AM I am guessing you mean that "kookaburra laughing" noise when you back off or change gear. My knowledge of this is that its the boosted air that is sent back though the turbo when the throttle butterfly is shut suddenly. The noise is then channeled back though the intake system. To get a really loud "boost noise" Get rid of all that induction piping, and make it as short as possible. Im sure that the nizpro cobra kits would have a loud woofle on gear change. This is asuming that the B.O.V you have is screwed up tight so it dont blow off that easy, there wise you will be getting that ppssshhhhh noise from your BOV.~Allen

So I thought I'd do some research and post my findings here....I finally had the work done last week and absolutely love the results. I chose a 2x2.5inch mandrel bent replacement section, with 2 hot dogs replacing the centre muffler. The car now has a much deeper and sharper note to it without being too loud, thanks to the hot dogs. IMHO, the new exhaust note of the car is how it should have come out of the factory.Exotic Exhausts, the guys I chose to do the work:- Are a bunch of rev heads who love performance cars- Love custom work and do a lot of it- Have their own cutting equipment for the end plates, which kept the cost down.Apparently the guys have made up jigs for this mod so duplicating what was done on my car will be quick and easy.I'll attach a few pics of the new system for those who haven't seen it done before. Please feel free to PM me if you want any additional info regarding this mod, or if you want to catch up to hear how it sounds.Cheers<{POST_SNAPBACK}>I went to Exotic Exhaust today and got mine done the same, and I also think it sounds perfect. Not too loud, but beefy down low, with a sweet note up high.I ordered it a week ahead and when I got there it was all made up ready, took a whole 15min to swap it over, hose down my old muffler so it was cool enough to put in the boot, and away I went, with an all up cost inc fitting of $260. I'm real happy with all that. B.B. Edited 22/12/04 10:54 AM by Barry Blue

BTW, you'll also notice that the car will sound a little louder first up in the morning before it heats up. :o Cheers
