As long as you listen to the guys who have done it you should be right.

Sedan=remove centre muffler and replace with a hot dog. DO NOT put a straight pipe through!

Ute=remove centre muffler and replace with a straight pipe!

All replacements be it a hot dog or straight pipe get the piece flanged so you can easily revert back to stock if needed down the track :spoton:

Im not being aggressive but look at the name of the thread?

Cut centre muffler out

Ute is not quite as loud as sedan

Manual ute straight pipe yes

Manual sedan straight pipe maybe

Auto of either get a hotdog. <---------------------------------------------------------------

Between $50-$200

Basically the gist of the last 30 pages.

From what everyone said gives a nice crackle pop on decell

it was even summarised here for everyone on this page!!!

mate I know hey. I took the advice of the guy at the shop as well. I mentioned adding a hotdog and he was pretty quick to squash that idea. he was adamant that it wasnt required. I had a bit of a whinge as when the guy did it he didnt have my rear muffler braced properly and it now sags about 2 inches lower than it did from stock claiming that "this was as good as it could get as I have a towbar" I think they knew I was pissed off but I left work for a couple of hours to get it done and I was gone half the day so I really didnt have time to go on about it. he's reinstalling it for free. low rev acceleration is pretty unbearable hey.

^ definitely wont be removing my centre muffler on my sedan after reading this thread..

id rather make a louder exhaust noise due to increased power and boost :sungum:

yeah it's an acquired taste imo. straight pipe sounds like those bongo VN's you hear getting around with clapped out exhausts. in my opinion.
