Hi guys, Had this done in Bris few wks ago,@ Carline enogerra, off the street walk in got charged $70 to do. They cut out the muffler only and replaced with few pipe bends.

Still getting used to the sound and it definitely gets deeper when the carbon builds up. More power, hard to say? does sound like it has to everyone on the street.

At 100Kms/h and 110 @ approx 1250Rpm no drone at all, and that Rpm is consistent in auto mode when cruising normally. Good investment.

Even had cops pull up at the bowser behind me in an unmarked evo7 (Silver, Toowoomba area) They heard me start it and I ran back in for a drink at the servo when I came back out they commented it sounded good, obviously it wasnt to loud for them to investigate. Go For It!

Hey fellas, yeh I have done the mod at windsor exhaust which set me back around 110. I have done this mod to both a BA Mk2 XR6T ute and my now FG XR6T sedan . Let me tell you the fg sounds bloody amazing in tiptronic mode. The ute was slightly louder inside the cab but that's due to the lack of cabin insulation in the back wall. But the sedan is definatly louder on the outside of the car, so if you have an fg sedan or even a ute, ded set go for it. It definatly unleashes a bit of power also, im 100 percent sure about it. Make sure you take the centre out, NOT THE REAR.

I rate it 4.5/5 fellas. I cannot however comment on the manual cars, but id say its not much different than the zf in semi-auto mode

cheers

Thanks for the review mate, I don't suppose you could ruffle up a sound clip or even a picture?

Hello,

After much reading about removing the centre muffler and this very post, I decided to bite the bullet and get this mod done, got it done at Mettams Mufflers in Kelmscott for a neat little sum of just $100.00, listening to them rev the car while it was on the hoist was awesome, the drive home just as good. Best 100 dollars I have spent on the car, highly recommend this one to all, decided to put up a before/after of the exhaust.

Enjoy!

Finally a sound clip :) Finally FG :)

marcthelegend was that with just the pipes welded in, or a hotdog? Any drone? Sounds lovely!

Would be interesting to hear how it sounds with a high flow cat, maybe one day :)

That's with just the pipe welded in (see pic), sounds like a proper sports exhaust, for a fraction of the cost, definitely can confirm the original post fits the FG as well, no drone, sounds unreal, burbles / pops nicely on decelleration.

Got a few more vids on the way to dinner tonight, took the highway there to get some clips of just crusing along / harsh acceleration.

Enjoy!

Dont get EPA'd they'll throw you a big fine with no rear muffler...

Dags,

Just the centre muffler. Have to do for now till I upgrade full system. I live in a small country town, with fresher air than the city so it'll take a good while to make a difference...

Nice work marcthelegend seems both exhaust shops in different states did the same work. This is not mandrel bent. Please note. I wanted to retain a little restriction, but a lot less than before with the muffler in place, sounds louder when cold start up, turns heads when you do. Doesn't sound like a race car or anything, but gets the curiosity going.

Hi Barra,

I find that when first starting up, the car is quiet loud, idles quiet raspy, a truly sporty sound, once moving the sound is amazing also, one of my mates is now comparing it to a V8 supercar lol, because its a bit of a rough sporty sound, which burbles / pops VERY nicely when decelerating and also makes a quiet, yet noticable backfire sound when changing gears. Not sure if the backfiring this is bad or not, after some reading someone says that the car has a spark cut feature to help the transmission, whether or not that's true I don't know? But I find it doesnt happen when running premium, but was a tad short with cash and ran 91 from coles :(

Cheers

Marc
