Vibration happens at about 80kph and over, worse when accelerating hard.

The car hadnt done many ks when I lowered it and it was fine for about two weeks before it started.

The dealer I went to was Titan Ford

They said that it is the C/Vs maxing out but my arguement is that I have still got the original bump stops on the car.

Thanks

that's just a load of crapola.

The CV's are made to work at any angle. I'd be going back and attempting to have a civil conversation with the Service Manager.

Tell him that you dont accept this explanation because it is simply illogical.

Tell him also that you will be prepared to return the car to original height but if the problem persists, you would require the dealer to cover the costs.

Tell him you are quite happy to confirm all this in writing. Press your opinion about the bump stops. If he insists on his view, ask him to confirm it in writing for you. Tell him that you are a member several Ford enthusiast motoring forums and the weight of technical opinion does not support his theory.

Above all, be civil but firm. Dont let up. I'm sure you will win out in the end.

I can recall other members having persistant vibration problems that eventually had a solution.

Good luck.

Macka is right the cv's are desirned to work though thier full travel so it is not this that causes the vibration, at normal ride the shaft's are at almost thier fully compressed point.

Thanks for all the imput guys and especialy Macka

I called ford during work and was on the phone with the service guy discussing the situation and he still stands by his words. I made him put it down in writing and send it out to me.

Im going away for work for 5 weeks on monday so I will have to carry on my fight when I get back.

Does any other people here have lowering issues because all the info I have will help.

Cheers

Adrian

Adrian I have seen your car and it is no lower then mine and I have not had any vibration issues due to the car being so low.

I guess you can put your mind to ease and it might be a lot simpler to put the stock springs back in and see if this fixes your problem! If not take the car to Titans with the stock springs fitted and refuse to pick it up until it is fixed!

Good luck! :pinch:

if the vibration occures off throttle it is most likely a tyre wear issue.

if the vibration is under load then the problem could be drive shaft balance

I had this problem with my xr6t series1 and it took them 3 attempts to get it right

my advise is to be persistant and try another dealer as I did

good luck

When I was having problems with my ute Tiatns told me to take my extractors off cos that was causing the problem, just before I did I tried one more dealer(titans was 2nd place) and told them what I was told and they pretty much said that's bullsh*t and ended up fixing the problem in a day, after 3 months of beinf fooked around by 2 other dealers.

Try someone else
