Anyways, Walbro fuel pump, injectors and a valve springs next I guess...Custom edit and well see what it'll do then.

So you're saying the tune you have is all above board for what it is supposed to be?

Seems odd to me that an edit could be supplied that would see the car limited even more at the top end than the standard vehicle??? Is it the same through the gears? I can understand that the standard fuel pump and injectors would not be able to sustain full boost of say 8psi all the way to redline but surely it could be controlled so that the boost didn't drop any further than the standard 4 psi map at the high end of the rev range?

From what you've reported they must be allowing more boost low and mid range but severly cutting it in the high range. Just seems all a bit incongruous to me.

Sounds like a dealer edit :gooff: This is exactly what Ford did to the Phoons pre "the troubles". That little extra protection at the expense of performance.

Just got to have these beasties custom tuned.Sorry but I just cant plug and play.

Yeah, I'm not sure... I phoned CAPA and they told me to call the bloke I got it from. I may still have a leaky IC hose, I doubt it, but I need to check everything else before I go assuming the edit deaded the top-end....The tailpipe certainly looks white and lean-as, therefore I'll be running the 8psi map until the custom tune. Logic behind the mods is more that I was going to do it anyway, so I may as well only pay for the edit tune once.

Tailpipe won't run grey or white as far as lean goes, cause there's no lead in your guzzoline

Hmm. Didn't know that! Guess I'm showing my age :spoton:

Still...It looks a lot lighter than it used to.

Update, I can't even get over 160 with the standard map loaded now....I've replaced the spring clips on all the IC hoses I can't find a leak and the T seems to be running ok, just no power. I gave up and got the daimler back on the road. rebuilding injectors @ $40 a pop aint a cheap excercise when you've got 12 of them...
