Alloy Pedals

I just received my alloy pedals, they came with 2 allen key bolts, now looking at the pedal their is a spot I could put the bolt but I would have to drill through the ford pedal are you meant to do this ?

Why do you have to drill through? As the ones I recived have a tight rubber edging to go around existing pedal .It was hard enough to get over the pedal but once on I tried to move it to see if would come off nothing ,didnt move at all.

Because it's the law. They must be secured and not just slipped over the pedal. It may not move now, but when the rubber ages a bit and softens up you might go for the pedal one day and find yourself pushing the floor instead.

There have been documented cases of accidents being caused because of this with some of the over the counter cheap alloy look pedal covers.

bloody hell took me forever to drill the hole in the brake pedal and then the bolt they give you is barely long enough. Whats the second bolt for a spare? The accelerator doesnt have anywhere you can put a bolt through.

Mine come with 2 as well, they must just put 2 in every kit whether manual or auto just in case the person packing them cant count :fool:

Yep, two in each set even though the auto only needs one. Someone in the Ford accounts dept. should pick up on this. They are wasting enough money here to fix the sh!tty brakes. Or the sh!tty handbrakes. Or the sh!tty diffs. Or the ... Oh, forget it!!
