Ford warrenty and another 2years dealer warrenty.I will lose the dealer warrenty because I do not service with my dealer.Whose to say that I will own the car in 3years anyway. Ive got a mate who's using bp visco5000 in his NA6 without any dramas, its a pretty good oil. As a rule dont use a synthetic til at least 10000km thoughShane

rota Member 8 Member For: 20y 1m 7d Location: Perth Posted 15/07/05 07:59 AM Share Posted 15/07/05 07:59 AM BP Visco 5000 is a fully synthetic oil, rated at 5W-40. I swear by the stuff and personally feel that it's the best oil on the market for the $$$. It's a decent horsepower oil and is also has an excellent wear rate on the internal components of your engine.A few years ago, Fast Fours and Rotaries magazine did a comparison of 10 leading oils on the market (ran the test in conjunction with COME Racing) and from memory BP Viso 5000 was second overall? The only better oil was from the US and was considerably more expensive, which is a factor considering the amount of oil required in the 4.0T.As has been mentioned before though, make sure you run mineral based oil for the beginnning of the engine's life. My first oil change with synthetic oil was at 7,500 km's.

I thought thinner oil without the additives make the oil go to the top of the engine quicker and reduces that initial wear during run-in period. Isn't that the case? They told me it will cost about $200. Also my tyres will be repleced for nothing because they have a big split throught them.
