XRT UTE the reality is that pulling your interior out to perform a run probably takes more effort then what some of the classes will ever warrant, ie: if somebody wants to go buy a XR... a month latter puts a k&n and a cold air intake on there car then goes to the effort of pulling all there interior out just so they can take the XR6 Turbo Stock class then in my mind they deserve the fastest time

[/quote Sounds good, :spoton: what does others feel about valve springs,? does this count? it is just that other unopened classes do let you change them . (I don't want to change them if it means going up a class) but I think what you have covers everyone.

Valve springs seriously limit power so even with my 245rwkw, I would be in the highest category because I have had springs done. I would get smashed.

I think your car should be in xr6turbo modified, so you are racing standed internals, (except valve springs,) other wise xr6t's will look wimpy next to other unopened classes.

That would be fair :spoton:

guys the idea of the unopened class is to have fun!

then to do it cheaply and reliably!

now by unopened it means that rocker to sump stock!

no body is going to check but we hope that your integrity stops any cheating as its for fun not a national championship!!!

ls1 I think do allow valve springs but that's them!!!!

we should use the kiss theory if it is to work!!!

there should be the 2 classes per catagory!!

thus any mod you like unopened, other than, turbo, manifold's, no nos, funny fuel, race rubber, droped exhausts, removal of fixed weight, structrual body mods & etc. in the unopened class but free in:

the free any mod you like class

I've had a think and have come up with this. What does everyone think. It gives everyone something to aim at and is easy to check.

XR6Turbo

Tuned. This is for stock cars with the only modification being an edit or piggyback. No other modification allowed

Street. Must run factory intercooler and factory turbo with street tyres.

Anything else can be modded. (No Nos)

Super Street. Must run factory turbo and street tyres.

Anything else can be modded. (No Nos)

Super Strip. Must run factory turbo.

Anything else can be modded. (No Nos)

OUTLAW. No restrictions.

Anyone that runs Nos, or a bigger turbo is in this class.

XR8 & GT

(BOSS engined cars)

Tuned. This is for stock cars with the only modification being an edit or piggyback. No other modification allowed

Street. Unopened with street tyres.

Any bolt-on mods. (No Nos)

Super Street. Any mods with street tyres. No forced induction or Nos.

Super Strip. Any mods. No forced induction or Nos.

OUTLAW. No restrictions.

Any forced induction, (including Nos)

I have tried to keep it to a minimum number of classes whilest still giving everyone something to aim at. I’ve also tried to avoid controversy by not including things that can’t be checked easily.

Geea.

When I wrote them last night I pretty much imagined it as going along a nizpro/aps route

stock being, you just got the car/you dont want to spend much on it

Modified your probably half way in between a phaze 1-2

pro modified your on par for a phaze 3

unlimited you have a wallet that could feed a small nation

so given that Valve springs are pretty common at a phaze 1/2 level then I would be inclined to see them permited in the modified class but not in the stock class (not that you would need them)

The other question I would like to pose is should the Typhoon compete with the XR6 in the stock and modified brackets (as it comes factory fitted with upgraded internals) or should it compete at these 2 levels in its own class?

Dynowog, The problem with the 2 classes, (unopened vs opened) is that there are alot of cars at the extremities, Its nice to somewhat take things in baby steps, compete in stock you then move up into modified and then on to pro modified and so on, it means that everybody no matter how much or how little has someway of being competitive in a category.

IN the end I am happy to go along with the majority, (I am happy to leave them alone,) I think the Typhoon should be aloud to run in stock class, it was made to rule, that's why they pay the big bucks, not a bad way of getting around the springs and internals, but will that make up for the auto advantage, time will tell.

I agree but just thaught if we use the kiss theory its more likley to happen!!!

craigs suggestions are good too!!!

as to valvesprings etc its upto the individual if they use them or not nobody is checking!!!!

the more serious it gets the less fun it becomes!!!

I think anyway!!!
