Well picked it up today........ What can I say.

Just 220k's on the clock now, got that burning paint smell about it while everything finds it's home....

I'm not sure what the journo's are saying about the Tornado but for me it is, better than expected..

Drove out of the lot, took the rep for a squirt.. I was immediatley impressed by how settled and balanced the thing was on the road, let alone for a ute.. Nice ride, not too bumpy, yet doesn't float around like utes tend to..

Gearbox smooth, a little notchy but that will improve, also there is a very slight vibration noise taking off in low revs 1st and 2nd, unsure what that is but I think it's shielding?? all in all, sweet box..

Brakes feel a 'lil spongey and not as tight as the ones on the demo Typhoon, but hopefully will bed in a bit more and generate some bite, nothing a set of good pads won't fix.

Power delivery was a pleasant supprise, alot better than the previous incarnation in the tester I drove. Lag not as evident and after gear changes, it takes only a split second for boost to come back up after changing.

Initial boost can be felt around the 2500rpm mark, by 3200, she's swingin....... all the way till the chimes. luv that :glad:

First gear, now with some practice under my belt, is a tad sluggish to get off the line. I think this is where the bad times can be attributed to. 1500rpm bogs down if u don't ride it a little, rev and pop it and it aint pretty.... For me, first is a tad too tall..

Second gear is my favourite... out of corners, if u hold the revs up, she just wantas to lift it's head and go.. always have to watch out for sand or gravel, slightest amount of either ends in the back skipping out..

It's a damn nice drive, much much improved on the first 'episode' of the Typhoon and I can't believe it's the same car ( sortof- being a ute )..

Still a little dissapointed ( read-fairly!!!! ) with no Premium audio screen. Looks ok at night in the blue, but daytime, it's just bland..

Can't complain about the rep, just great service from start to finish, big wraps to him :glad: ...

here's a quik pikky..

A BIG thumbs up to FPV, worth the wait... :nono:

Congrats on the purchase mate!

Nice little review you got there. I was thinking of buying a Tornado if I went down the ute track.

Ended up with just a T sedan.. hehe

Congratulations again buddy and thanks for the write-up, it’s refreshing to read a level headed review after wading through all the sh*t that gets churned out of the magazines.

Trent.

PS: Do you have any more pics? :smilielol:
