Hey guys just thought id bring this up since it was in todays paper ( Sundy Times )(W.A)

*Tidbits from Artcile

The vaporate fuel-saving system enables cars to use petrol which is normaly emmited into environment.

Its a device that is fitted to the fuel injector.

The device adds heat to the fuel system so that all petrol is vapourised and used by the engine.

Most cars waste between 15-20% of petrol because it fails to turn into vapor.

In some vehicles fuel use has dropped more than a quater.

It costs $258.

And will not void any warrenty

You would think that it would either be total crap or have minimal impact. To have a generic product that they say can be fitted to all fuel injected petrol engines without any other adjustments is a fairly big call.

I’m far from an expert in fuel injection and engine tuning, but if something like this did actually work then it would have to have a detrimental effect on either engine longevity or the computer trying to figure out WTF is going on – and knowing the BA ECU it would more than likely detect something was up and go into limp mode. That’s a sure way of saving fuel if you can’t drive the f*cking thing I guess. :stirthepot:

Same article was printed in the 'Sunday Territorian (NT)'...must admit I was pretty sceptical about this ordinary looking bit of gear!

For $290- plus fitting, I can't really see what all the fuss is about. To recoup that sort of money from fuel bill savings, I reckon it'd take a fair bit of driving!

It mentioned in our fish n chip wrapper that it won't work in heavy vehicles or cars driven fast

A MELBOURNE invention that claims to slash vehicle petrol bills by up to 20 per cent and reduce harmful engine emissions will go on sale tomorrow.
Vaporate added heat to a fuel system, ensuring all petrol was vapourised and used.

Am I cinical or does smell of the "Polarizer" by Peter Brock.!!!!! (without the magnets)

Vaporate, which will retail for a recommended $289 and must be fitted by a mechanic, will be distributed by Repco.
The device also allowed motorists who ran cars on premium unleaded to swap to regular unleaded without losing power.

WOOT I can my car on Unleaded - Ford could do a retro warranty fit!!!

Seriously I cant see how this can work - wouldnt the on board computer adjust itself cancelling any fuel saving effect?

Must admit though - nice and simple in design

Everyone must rush to get one of these to go with their tornado fuel saver. With these two combined you will go 1000km on a tank!

If it sounds too good to be true it probably is......

there must be some sort of tradeoff here? less power as you've added heat to the inlet charge and therefore reduced it's volume?
