I got the ford alarm and its playing games. At first press unlock, blinks no chirp , button pops up , no pbobs. To open boot press boot, noprobs. Now press boot, horn chirps lift up boot alarm gose off. I now have to unlock car first then boot.

My alarm doe similaar...sometimes when I unlock the boot I get 3 beets and then I open no probs and when I shut the boot lights flash and alarm appears re armed. Other times I get 2 beeps and when I open the boot the alarm goes off. I always unlock the car now to be safe:angry:

The Ford alarm does not have shock sensor or tilt sensor - it ONLY protects the "openings" of the car - boot, bonnet, doors. Pretty crap for what you pay.

Oh sorry, it DOES go off if the battery is disconnected.

I have a rather funny/strange problem with my ford alarm too. When I'm in the car, if I use the button on the driver's door to lock the car, about 30 seconds later (if the engine is not running) the alarm automatically arms itself. Then when I get out the car, of course the alarm goes off. If I press the button down while the engine is running, it will automatically arm about 30 seconds after turning the engine off. It is quite strange as it only does it for the button on the door. The button on the ICC works fine.

Not to worry (I hope). I have my car booked in for the 3000km service tomorrow. Hopefully they will fix this then.

Have been with Ford techs when trying to upload the S/W. My BEM wont accept it at all. But I did get to see what they can do. Most of the functions can be enabled or disabled when they hook up. Ie seat belt warning, interior lights, bla bla blaa. So mees think it a new BEM on monday.

No probs here at all, all alerts work OK, but would like the little tune when you turn off the iginition with the lights on like my EL had.

Then again I didn't get the alarm option.
