Im in Perth and Ive had all my cars insured with Shannons.

They've always beaten any quote from RAC etc and they have superior benefits such as choosing my own repairer etc

Modifications aren't an issue at all.

Having said that, I was very close to changing to RAC lastmonth, but Shannons bettered them by $4 a month and lowered my excess $200 aswell so I stayed :)

This is only for my POS EF XR8 but.

The quote will be interesting for a GT or F6 I want to get.

Damn that is cheaper than I expected too!

I might consider seeing what RAC can do for me as I'm paying 1400 with just car ins.

One word (well, acronym):  AAMI.

They have no problem with mods. You just inform them, they modify your policy, no change to premium.  :spoton:

Hmmm, AAMI WOULD NOT touch my V8 Ute....

Couldn't find anyone who would. Change the CAM for one without Ford or Expensive Daewoo stamped on it and NONE of the Insurers want to know about you.

Dont AAMI have a 3 modification policy ? If I remember correctly, changing the Sound System counts as 1....

Im now officially an RAC policyholder!!!

Costing me $720 year  with 34k agreed value, no claim protection and they have no problems with mods as long as you tell them... : :spoton:

All in all a good result and even saving $100 on my current policy :spit:

Seeya later SGIO.... :sick:

Thanks to everyone for their input!! :sick:

That is a good price ....

NRMA wanted $1500 here in Sydney for a T... over 35 and with 60% no claim...BUT NRMA wont cover any mods at all......

No AAMI do not have a rule of 3 Mods policy any more they are happy with APS Phase II at $650/annum premium.

Hmm, I'd be making sure that policy is not written in invisible ink....

I've dealt with AAMI before and I think you'll find you'll be getting a "Dear John letter as soon as they work out what an APS kit is ......

$650/$720 is that all?!?!?!? *cough* *cough* *choke* *weeeeeeeze*

I've just done my car insurance on a stock T. Im in Sydney, not quite 35, however rating 1 driver with no claims in 5 years. Living in a relative low risk suburb. Car is kept in lock up garage.

CommInsure = $1920 (+ required that you got satelite tracking for the car fitted)

Allianz = $1920 (+ same conditions as CommInsure)

GIO = $1400

Suncorp = $1500

NRMA = $1200

JustCar = $1700

AAMI = $1100

Allianz are the underwriters for CommInsure as AAMI is for JustCar Insurance.

I guess its fairly obvious which one I went with... Still $720, where's the justification in that! :spoton:

AAMI own Just Car insurance. I rang Just Car about mine and they told me that they can not offer me insurance unless I've contacted and declined by AAMI.

Before I bought the Turbo, I contacted AAMI about insuring a GT. They wanted to know my life story and where the car will be parked at any time of day. They were such a pain in the :spoton: I bought the Turbo and went else where.
