Hi chasps... OK - MissT has just been in for her 30K service. All sweet. They fixed the exhaust rattle, tightened the front submember that was (apparently) loose and reflashed the PCM (even though I expressly asked them not too!).

Now they claim the front pads and rotors are worn below spec and must be replaced !!! after 30K !! are the rotors made of cheese ??? I ask you.

They ask $750ea for front rotors and $305 per set for pads - all OEM. total $1994ish. YIKES !!!

So I think to myself....'self' sure I can do this a little cheaper than that.

Today I surf PBR - Harrop - and any one else who comes up under google !

Any one on the forum care to offer some suggestions ?

Remember I'm South Australia based so any clever ideas that involve driving the car interstate will be daintily side stepped out of expediency...

cheers to the forum

The DBA's would be more expensive for your car PuffnStuff as you got the premium brakes or at least I think you do.

I'm up to 42,500 on mine and I'll probably get a note saying my rotors need replacing at the 45k service (although the groove is still there).

I can save you money on the pads if you want. I have some genuine Ford Premium brake pads, the same ones they are going to give you. They have 1mm missing (they come with 7mm) as they've done 5,000 kms (mostly hwy).

Shouldn't cost too much to freight them down to Adelaide, and I'll let em go for $150 + freight (negotiable) if you're interested.

that's half the price you've been quoted for just 1mm worn.

What Scotty said. I put on the whole performance kit from PBR and thus far are light years ahead of the OEM brakes. The track day next weekend will soon sort them out............

PM bcr01 for supply. :spoton:

Ditch the crapfest that are the standard brakes and put in a a set of PBRs. Cost me $1750 including delivery plus about $300 to install at my local Midas shop (with brand new Super DOT4 fluid). :spoton:

Just checking before I surf some more...

Thanks CRO for the offer. Give me another day or so to pursue some upgraded bits and bobs. If it all works out too expensive I may just take you up on your offer and throw them on with the original disks. Not a perfect solution as I like MissT to be just 'so'.

thanks all for the responses so far...

I was quoted 660 fitted price for dba slotted rotors, 325mm x 32mm with bendix ultimate performance pads. It was if I remember about 220 a corner for the rotors and about 180 for the pads.
