At lunchtime I went and looked at a Local Ford dealers demo car which has been lowered quite a bit - and the tyres have rubbed the top of the front guards, though not excessively.  Anyone else having tyres rub once lowered?

My car has got King SuperLows all around, have had the tyre scrub the guard twice, first time was trying to get out of a very steep driveway, the second time was under heavy brakes through a hairpin corner on a rather spirited mountain downhill run. :censored:

guys just got a tow bar installed, when I checked the specs for the xr6t it stated that max towing capacity was only 1200kgs.  does this mean the t would be no good for towing say a caravan?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

Apparently the 1200kgs limit is on the standard "class 2" towbar ford offer. Hayman Reece(??) offer a nice big "Class 4" unit with 2400kg limit. that's what I'm supposed to be getting.

Where does yours touch? My front tyres have amble clearance under all angles at all heights.

No diiferent to being standard height and having the standard spring fully compressed, it has to clear everything.

Hang on... you have a camber kit - that's where it goes wrong!! Probably got 20mm of spacers on the upper A-Arm, I have that on my old ED.

For the guys with Edit - do you switch back to standard for towing, or use the higher powered version to tow as well?

<{POST_SNAPBACK}>

When ever I tow the boat, I put back in the factory tune to be on the safe side. There's ample power for towing, & I don't want the tow load, & 10 psi going through the engine. When towing it's not about speed, but safety.

The funny thing is, on the way back from skiing, the guys with the 4wd utes, can't keep up with me on the long uphill sections! :spoton:
