Sounds like the o ring to me, I had mine go at about 30,000 too, you wont see any drips as it drips onto something hot and evaporates immediatley, I was going through about 5 litres of coolant a month. When you standing still at the lights wind down your window and check if you can smell that distinct burning coolant smell.  It is a fairly long job for ford to fix it too.

There are two o-rings that can go loose. One is above the alternator which you can fix for yourself, or take the dealer 5 mins.

The other one is at the water pump located under the turbo which is what you were experiencing.

I have the one that leaks above the alternator, don`t want to take it to ford can I leave it to another mechanic to fix,it`s not a special part is it.

No its not a special part, but ford would have had lots of experience fixing them by now, and it is a warranty job.

Just tighten it with a screw driver yourself...

I got mine back today after Ford replaced the Radiator and also replaced the Turbo O-Ring that leaks... unfortunately they also did the reflash.... I specifically asked the service advisor not to when I booked it in, however they said that if it wasn't done warranty would be voided, so far the car seems ok... I'll re load the edit map tomorrow and see how that goes.

Just interesting to note though, when I took the car in I pointed out the obvious leak from the radiator, and when I rang yesterday afternoon the service advisor said "oh, no the radiator wasn't leaking, it was the O-Ring...we'll need the car over night"

When I picked it up today, he said "lucky we found the radiator was leaking, otherwise we would have only replaced the O-Ring"

Glad my dealer listens to me... only been a qualified mechanic for 8 years.... :spoton:

Not wrong, ford service centres- 30000klm service told a small leak was found and an oring would need replacing. Said to the service manager that's odd I had found no marks on the painted garage floor. Got the car back on a friday, went out that night and when backing out the next morning found coolant the size of a dinner plate on the floor. Went up and left the car and picked it up at midday as they were closing. Service manager told me it was a different problem saying something about a split hose or housing to the turbo-WHAT EVER I said to myself. Had no problems from 5 weeks ago.

The dealer replaced our radiator a couple of weeks ago, and all seemed ok till we left it idling for a little while, came back to the car to see steam coming from under the bonnet and water all over the ground! Towed to the dealer... " there was a pin hole in one hose (yeah right)... oh and someone forgot to do up a screw on the fan relay". ONYA FORD

sitting idling with no fan.... great
