I'll take it for I drive this weekend with a mate-armed with video camera and hopefully get something useful. I will also take it to a trusted mechanic and get them to check the cross member studs. Failing that I will PM Ralf and see if he can lend a hand. I'll keep you posted. Thanks again.

A thread with the exact same problem is me. the only difference is that mine happens every time I turn left into my driveway. A clunk sound from the back left. It is starting to drive me bonkers. After readying about the air vent in the boot, I might look at this when I get home.

They carried out inspection, bearing tyre noise (clunk) and using chassis ears diff pinion is noisy.

FG G6. Driving down motorway today, smooth road at about 100k, big metallic clunk from what sounded like left rear. Then about 1km later, again, then nothing. Got into city and it started banging and clunking, always metallic. Got out and checked, it's now at the mechanics. Replicated it for him, put into gear, nothing, drove forwards, stopped, put into reverse, big clunk, back into drive, little clunk, reverse, big clunk etc. Ideas? Sounds back leftish.
