If you have heard otherwise please let me know!) and was just wondering which is the best way to hook it up.Could you tell me(or even better, post a pic) how it is best hooked up to the original lines(I think they screw into the rad with hydraulic fittings don't they? Do the coolers come with the right parts for this?), and whether its in series, parallel, or replaces the factory cooler all together...Thanks guys!Chris Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/17601-auto-trans-cooler/ Share on other sites

By placing it in the top hose, the oil comes from the gearbox, through the radiator, then through the cooler & back to the box. After you have done this, it's best to also check the level of the fluid in the gearbox.I mounted my cooler under the intercooler, with air intakes cut into the plastic shield under the car. I hop this helps. Aaron Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/17601-auto-trans-cooler/#findComment-252748 Share on other sites

Is there a simple tool you can buy to flare the pipe or do you have to take it somewhere to get done?I'll probably do an oil change on the tranny at the same time with a good synthetic oil (any recommendations?). Can anyone tell me where the fill and drain points are? I'm assuming the fill point is on the bottom of the pan?ThanksChris Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/17601-auto-trans-cooler/#findComment-252853 Share on other sites

Air still passes through the cooler so the radiator still gets some airShane Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/17601-auto-trans-cooler/#findComment-254952 Share on other sites
