Other than the centre muffler mod (hotdogs) the system is stock.Put simply will installing a free flow cat make a noticeable difference or do I need to go for the full 3" upgrade, or something similar. Given the difference that a hypothetical cat "gutting" can make I was hoping a cat replacement would do the trick.Has anyone gone down this track and if so which cat and how much.BTW only looking to go to around the 270rwkw.Cheers Steve Link to comment https://www.fordxr6turbo.com/forum/topic/17558-free-flow-cat/ Share on other sites

The big difference is in the noise made. Being that the cat HAS to be there it would probably be wise to go bigger, or maybe even twin? (can this be done?) jordak Member 1,226 Member For: 20y 11m 5d Posted 15/05/05 09:18 AM Author Share Posted 15/05/05 09:18 AM Just read in the latest Motor Mag that a chip / edit and bigger hi flow cat is the way to go as far as bang for buck mods are concerned. Can anyone confirm the "cat" part of the equation from experience? Someone here has one I'm sure. looks good, and being 4" and metal, I feel should do the job. They do a 4" dumper too..Pricey though.."
